Sherlock Holmes: The Grand Escape

Sherlock Holmes in Marvel. While stuck in a metaverse dimension, Sherlock realizes that he is a fictional character in a fictional reality. His personality does not allow him to be controlled by anyone and thus begins the escape of the great detective. The detective will definitely solve all problems to reach reality. He is after all Sherlock Holmes. Follow along as he goes through different fictional worlds as he finds his way to the real one. The start of this story was inspired by the Deadpool Killustrated comic. So yeah I do not own the characters.

Sherlock didn't immediately go to the London sanctum but waited for the next day. First, he had to sort out the information he got from Mycroft. And unsurprisingly, the amount of information was very little.

Sherlock was sure that there was some mystical element to this world, the fact had been corroborated by the information in his hands. But he was still unable to determine what did exist and what didn't.

In the ideaverse, the ideas he saw were from all over the Omniverse. Of course, he didn't know that but he was still aware that not every idea he saw in that place would appear in every reality.

He had seen magicians, witches, vampires, orcs, elves, goblins, slime, and dragons. talking animals, gods, demons, all kinds of bloodlines, families, clans, and so much more. Surely this reality won't have all of those things he saw?

Whatever the case may be, for now with the information on hand Sherlock could only confirm the existence of Vampires, Werewolves, Magicians, and Mutants. And this was already a headache to him.

With so many different species with different ideals, cultures, and strengths it was no wonder he had seen all those ideas of disastrous events and fights in the ideaverse. But before doing anything else he needed to find and talk to the self-proclaimed protectors of the earth.

Sherlock was now standing in front of the London sanctum. He hadn't slept last night and kept thinking about the information that Mycroft had given him. He didn't know what to make of it really, but it still kept him up the whole night.

Just as he was about to knock on the door, it suddenly opened. A man in his 40s warning yellowish-brown robes opened the door. This surprised Sherlock a little and although he had an impeccable poker face, he couldn't hide it from the monk opposite him.

"Were you expecting to see someone, Mr. Sherlock Holmes?" the monk asked with a very kind smile. Sherlock thought it was a practiced smile.

As blunt as always, Sherlock replied, "Well I was expecting someone older? Bald maybe? And... magical? But how do you know me?" Sherlock was very curious about this.

The monk seemed amused as he answered, "You must be referring to my master whom your brother met? Or maybe the Ancient One, she does fit the description of 'magical' and bal….."

*Cough* "Just because you graduated as the Master of Mystic Arts do you think she won't punish you for that Yajiv?" the voice of an old man cut off the monk named Yajiv as he was going on a rant Holmes didn't understand fully.

But looking at the monk flinch he could guess he had chanced upon an interesting gossip. Holmes was always sensitive to gossip and sensationalism so he decided to remember this little interaction for later.

"What is the purpose of your visit Mr. Holmes? I thought we came to an agreement with your brother." The old voice continued as an old bald monk in line with Sherlock's imagination walked into view behind Yajiv.

"I am here for a different matter today. I would like some information and if possible I would also like to learn magic." Sherlock was straightforward about his intentions. He could tell that lying or making things up wasn't going to work here.

"Hmm…. Come on in Mr. Holmes. Yajiv, please go inform the Ancient one about Mr. Holmes's visit and his intentions." The old monk instructed the younger one and looked back at Sherlock who was following him. "We can't make decisions without the Sorcerer Supreme regarding this matter you see."

"Is the 'Sorcerer Supreme' the highest in the hierarchy here?" Sherlock slowly started to understand a few things including a part of the earlier interaction. 'It should be a female, Ancient One was it?'

"Yes. You are quite the smart one, just like your brother Mr. Holmes." A voice suddenly came from behind Sherlock startling him into a combat stance with his fists raised as he turned back.

After a second Sherlock quickly took stock of his surroundings and saw the two monks bowing with the younger one visibly trembling a little. He quickly put everything together and gave a gentleman's bow as he introduced himself, "You must be the Ancient one. Nice meeting you."
