Sera was right the world wouldn't stop moving because I wasn't okay. The Rot was still spreading. Monsters being seen more frequently.
The Queen and King had been dealing with all the fall out from the wedding night. It was time I got up and pulled my shit together. I wouldn't have the luxury of grieving if my mother couldn't either.

Theo had taken the Sun Elves involved in the riot back to his clan for questioning. Orion would join him for sentencing after she finished dealing with her clans problems. Theo hated the idea of separation. But she needed the space and time and he had to see to the things back home and the traitors before she arrived. Clearly his people were more upset about this than anyone realized. It was uncommon to marry outside your clan, but it wasn't unheard of. But maybe it was different because of the fact Orion was a High Elf.

In the times before the war. There were five clans of elves that lived under the rule of the High Council. Each clan had its own unique culture, nature and arcane magic.
The High Elves reigned over Elysium as the foremost clan, revered for their wisdom and knowledge. They held sway over matters of magic and government, they believed they were the most fit because they were the closer to the the gods. The first of the elves in Elysium.
Over time this displeased many of the elven tribes. The Wood Elves and Sun Elves most. Over centuries things reached a boiling point a magic fire burned through many of the Wood Elves territories, blamed on the High Elves and their lack of concern for the wood selves, this started conflict. The Wood Elves, enraged by the devastation of their forests, wanted to rebelled against the High Council. The Sun Elves, long frustrated by their lack of influence, joined them, seeking to change the way the Elysium was ran. The Moon Elves, foreseeing the ruinous path ahead, attempted to mediate but found themselves caught in the crossfire joining the side of the High Elves. And the Dark Elves, seizing the chaos to settle old scores, plunged Elysium deeper into turmoil.
As lines were drawn and alliances shattered, prejudice against the High Elves increased. They were blamed for their perceived arrogance and neglect, but also for their inability to see beyond their own agendas.
After the civil war ended the clans divided the lands with each clan single handily ruling their land and people.
