"I am the consciousness of the multiverse," the voice answered. "You may call me the 'Heart of the Universe'."

Kai said in surprise: "The universe... has consciousness?"

"Yes," the Heart of the Universe explained. "I have been observing you. Your courage, wisdom, and love for each other have convinced me that you are the guardians I've been waiting for."

Alex and Kai exchanged a glance, both seeing shock and confusion in each other's eyes.

"What do you mean by saying we're the guardians you've been waiting for?" Alex asked.

The Heart of the Universe replied: "The multiverse is facing an unprecedented crisis. Although you have overcome many challenges, an even greater threat is approaching. I've decided to bestow upon you the divine power to protect the multiverse."

Kai carefully asked: "This power... does it come at a price?"

"A wise question," the Heart of the Universe approved. "Indeed, obtaining this power comes with a cost. You will shoulder the responsibility of protecting the entire multiverse. This means you may have to make difficult choices, sometimes even sacrificing things you love."

Alex squeezed Kai's hand: "As long as we're together, there's nothing we can't bear."

Kai nodded: "Yes, we're willing to accept this responsibility."

"Very well," said the Heart of the Universe. "Then, prepare to receive this gift."

With these words, countless points of light flew out from the surrounding galaxies, swirling around Alex and Kai. They felt a powerful energy being infused into their bodies, both warm and awe-inspiring.

Alex felt his light powers gradually strengthening. Now he could not only manipulate light but also create and shape reality.
