Chapter 34

Daniel and Ophis were standing opposite to each other with 100 meters distance between them. Both had an expressionless face while looking at each other but you could see the flicker of emotions in Ophis`s eyes as she looked at Daniel.

She can`t remember how many years or millions of years has passed since she had a fight, it was something that made her somehow excited. A new emotion that she thought had been lost due to time and sleeping had come back to her. A fight with a person who gave back her silence, a person who had immense power she had never seen before, a power that was so chaotic and crazy yet at the same time calm like a stream of water.

Since she lost her silence because of Great Red, she created an organization that gathered those who were strong to fight that huge red dragon in the dimensional gap where her silence was, but no matter how many years had passed since she created it, she didn`t get back her silence. She saw how those people that she gathered and gave them more power than what they already had formed factions and made their own ways into the world creating chaos and destruction in the name of Khaos Brigade, the very same organization she had created to fight great red.

They thought that she ignored them and didn`t care about what they were doing, but they were wrong, very wrong, because she always was there. Every time they did something, she was there watching what they did and with every day passed her disappointment increased to the point that she just wanted to erase them from existence and be done with it but she stopped. Those people that she had gathered turned the organization into a mere terroristic organization that the world hated and wanted to destroy.

Now thinking about her decisions back then, she found it was stupid and unnecessary. The whole purpose of the organization was to fight a being no one in the world could fight, like telling an ant to fight a lion. This is how big the gap between them and great red.

Maybe due to time and her long sleep, she couldn`t think straight but now after being exposed to the power of Daniel, someone who was so strange and not from the people of this world, she felt refreshed and her mind was clear.

She decided, after the fight, she would go and destroy the organization she made. She doesn`t want any unnecessary problems anymore.

Daniel looked at Ophis who seemed in deep thought for some seconds with a small smile. He noticed when he first saw her that she seemed to be unfocused as if she was moving on a predetermined thought, like a robot.

Which was searching for ways to get back her silence. She was like a little girl who had lost her home and was trying to get it back. That was the thought that had of her when he first met her, but now, things are quite different.

Her eyes looked clear and the foggy aura that was in her eyes disappeared, her mind was clear as a day and the gears that stopped moving for a very long time began working again at full capacity. Her sleep in the cave where she was exposed continuously to Daniel`s energy made her wake up, literally.

Now there was no Ophis of before, rather, she now became the Ophis of millions of years ago, the Ouroboros Dragon of Infinity, the being that symbolize the infinity and its incarnate. The sight that Daniel had seen when he got into the cave was her true being that could drive anyone to madness and spread chaos just by a look. If great red saw her now, he/she would be very shocked and surprised. After all, it only appeared recently. That`s mean that she was far older than him/her. (Dragons are genderless so I referred to great red by he/she.)

The air around trembled and the ground shook as Ophis released her aura that now seemed to be free as if what was restricting her disappeared.

"You ready?" Daniel said and although there was a big distance between them Ophis heard him clear.

"Um. I`m ready." She replied with a voice that was the same monotone voice of before but carried a hint of liveliness and vigor.

Daniel`s energy flared as well as Ophisــــــwho used her ability of shapeshifting to change her child form to an adult one with clothes that provided a freedom of movement.

The slits in her jet-black eyes narrowed and became sharp while Daniel`s eyes glowed in pure purple as he was surrounded by his dark violet energy.

Suddenly, both of them disappeared as if they teleported, then­ـــــــ

BOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!

They appeared in the middle with their fists meeting each other in a rather powerful confrontation that caused the earth to be destroyed and an impact sent powerful wind waves that could throw you away.

Their eyes were sharp and focused as they looked at each other without and change in their expressions.

However, they didn`t stop here as they moved and changed their positions appearing in another spot where their fists met again causing the same strong impact of before. They then exchanged blows and punches at a very high speed that was difficult for others, even gods, to follow with their naked eyes. Only those with trained eyes and great experience could barely see their movements.

Ophis and Daniel weren`t using any martial arts or special techniques, it was just their plain fists exchanging blows between each other.

That was merely tasting waters before going for the real thing. Daniel had the body of a monarch and Ophis had her immense strength and immense durability making her undefeatable but do not underestimate the body of monarch, a race that was very ancient and existed since the beginning of times.

BOOOOM!!!

KA-BOOOM!!!

With every blow they destroyed a chunk of the earth that in the next second was replaced by another layer of earth making it as new. The Shadow Dimension could withstand Daniel`s full power after all, it was designed for that. To host his soldiers and train himself as well. It was so durable. (don`t ask me why I said that because I didn`t read the novel and compensate what I lack with my imagination)

After several blows they stopped and made a distance between themselves.

Now things are getting serious.

Daniel coated both of his hands with a gauntlet made of dark violet energy, his own special element, while Ophis had her energy swirling around her arms and hands while she took a martial arts stance. Daniel took his stance as well before both of them sped at each other with incredible power before they met again in the middle but their fists didn`t connect, rather, attacked and dodged and counterattacked using their martial arts.

Daniel used his past life knowledge and experience of martial arts while Ophis used her past years' experience, the years when she was still a true goddess of infinity who battled unknown powerful beings from different universes and was known among them with her immense strength as well.

This was something the supernatural beings of the dxd world didn`t know but that is a story for another time.

They attacked each other utilizing their experiences and techniques with their power increasing as every second passed. The damages and impacts were heavy and destructive as you could see craters everywhere.

BOOOOOM!!!

KA-BOOOOM!!

With a flexible body, Ophis attacked Daniel`s head in an attempt to vaporize it entirely but he dodged by hair breadth and attacked back with a punch that moved at the speed of light aiming at her heart where he would make a big hole there.

But out goddess ducked down before she twisted her body and made a circular movement to his legs but he noticed it and jumped back and distanced himself.

She stood up and took a stance but his time her energy flowed like a current before it concentrated at her right leg that she lifted and used it to stomp on the ground.

BAAAM!!

Once she did that, the land trembled before a great chunk of earth was lifted and with great speed and decisive movement, she kicked multiple times in a femto-second breaking the earth into small parts, then coated them with her energy they were sharp and durable before it moved at the speed of slight at Daniel who saw all of this happening in a moment.

The sharp parts moved at him and he narrowed his eyes before his energy flowed on his hands and he moved them in a circular manner as if forming ying and yang before suddenly he pushed his two hands forward. Immediately, multiple waves of energy moved out in consistency before all the sharp rock parts were vaporized in the next moment, Ophis witnessed this with calm eyes before she sensed danger as a wave of concentrated energy moved at her with a very high speed that the mind wouldn`t be able to understand but she was calm and with of her hand she dismissed it but then Daniel appeared before her very eyes as he gave her elbow punch at her stomach making her body move up slightly before with dark violet energy swirling at fast speed on his fist, he punched her in the face so hard.

BOOOOOM!!!!!

Her body flew back at incredible speed travelling great distance before she collided with a big rocky mountain and broke it.

The rocks fell on her covering her body completely but Daniel took defensive stance in the next second as suddenly all the rocks exploded as black energy flared from beneath the rocks before Ophis shot at Daniel like a bullet with her fist ready and the power of infinity swirling around it.

Daniel knew that this was coming from the change of the flow of energy he felt from her. He tried to take on her attack but her underestimated the power of infinity cuz in the next moment his hand was vaporized upon contact before he was thrown away at great speed.

His body continued flying in the air before he managed to stop himself and land on the ground with a flip. He looked at both his hands and saw them disappeared entire without a trace. There was no blood, no flesh and no bones.

'I was careless, her power is so great and her experience is even greater. I could still learn and grow stronger.' He thought as he watched his hands grown back.

He was sure that he made the best decision when he made that deal with her. She was a true goddess of battlefield. Her immense experience was clear from how she dodged and parried his attacks, although she got hit but that was because she wasn`t serious.

And Daniel figured that out after exchanging blows with her.

"Why are you not taking this serious?" He said with cold emotionless voice because he didn`t like it one bit but he believed she had a reason.

Ophis who clearly heard him from that great distance stopped in her tracks and looked at him before saying in the same emotionless voice of hers.

"That question must be asked back to you. I`m not taking this seriously unless you do take it seriously."

Hearing that Daniel widened his eyes slightly before a small smile adorned his face as he noticed that he was limiting his strength and power unconsciously. That was a habit of him he hadn`t noticed till now, even in his past life, whenever he was practicing music or martial arts or anything, he wouldn`t exert full effort in it as he knew that no one would keep up or manage to defeat him and start to call monster and sort of. He was gifted with that but he was bored all of the time because there was no sense of challenge.

And it seems this habit accompanied him to this world as well. He sighed slightly before looking at Ophis with new eyes.

Now, in front of him, a being that could make him do his best and reach the end of his abilities and break his limits, reaching new heights.

Ophis was the key to his progress.

The same very woman noticed Daniel eyes that now were filled with determination and seriousness to overcome his limits, these eyes belonged to a person who had the resolve to do what was necessary to win.

A small beautiful smile adorned her mature adult face as liked those eyes before it disappeared and a cold and emotionless look appeared. He aura took 360 degrees change and wasn`t like before. Totally different. So sharp, so dangerous and so destructive.

Then with a deep cold calm voice, Daniel said…

"Here I come."
