The shift was fast. One minute Leila was about to yell at the young man for stopping her from eating and then the next minute she was on the table with Nolan's hand on her waist and their gaze locked.
"I'm sorry," he said
Leila raised a brow. "What for?"
"Everything" he said, "I'm sorry for not calling. I just…" he paused "I'm sorry"
"It will take a lot more than that to make me forgive you. You always do that, you know?"
"What?"
"See me for a few days, then disappear for another few days, then reappear and the cycle repeats"
"I'm sorry. I won't let that happen again. Promise"
Leila exhaled. "Fine, you are forgiven. Can I eat now?"
"And what am I to eat?"
"Fay can make you something to-"
"She cannot prepare what I want to eat"
"Then why bother me with-"
