"Take me home," Mrs Reed said and hopped into the back seat of the car
Nolan stood there holding his cheek. His gaze dropped, embarrassed before turning around to the driver's seat. He drove off into the night, but he would glance at the rear mirror to have a look at his mother.
Her expression was never changing. She looked lost in thought and hurt. He could not help but feel ten times worse than he already was. "Mom?" he called but no reply
"Mum, I-"
"Eyes on the road" was all she said that shut him up until they got home, but he would glance at the rear mirror from time to time
At home, Audrey was restless. She moved to and fro in the sitting room. The twenty-four hour mark has come, and she has yet to get any feedback from Nolan. She has tried his number numerous times, but he has not picked up.
