"Amanda?" Kathleen called softly as she dressed her up for bed.
"Yes?" Amanda asked, looking into Kathleen's face curiously. If people thought she looked like a half-caste, then Amanda looked like a little white girl. Kathleen thought as she admired Amanda's beautiful face.
She had thought about having this conversation with Amanda all day, and now that it was time, she wasn't sure how to go about asking the little girl for permission to date her father.
She cleared her throat, "Do you miss your mom?" She asked, making Amanda blink at her in confusion. Was that a wrong question to ask? Kathleen wondered, feeling worried that her question might upset the kid.
Amanda's brows knit thoughtfully, "She went to heaven after having me and I never saw her, so how can I miss her?" Amanda asked making Kathleen sigh sadly.
"Oh dear!"
