Chapter 23: The Council's Decision

Phinn POV

The hunting party made their way back home. Phinn was happy with the way the hunt had gone under his command. It had started a little rough, but ended well. The shift to leader was eye-opening for him.

He had never truly realized all the things the leader of the hunt had to be responsible for. Phinn knew that they had to be organized, lined out correctly. Timing was a must and they had to react when needed, but being responsible for others to do that as well was more than he had anticipated.

It had taken him a bit to get in to the rhythm of watching, leading as well as attacking, but he had grasped it before their prey had gotten away.

Dorin had spoken to him about what he needed to work on and what he had done well. Phinn could tell he was still upset about him breaking into the cellar, as well as not believing him on why he had been there, even if he didn’t openly show it.
