Butterfly Dream

Li Empire - Li Yin Palace

Like any other night, Weiheng and Wenhua divided up the tasks. To them, all nights were the same except for one night of scorching winter heat.

Wenhua and Weiheng walked in opposite directions. They parted ways in the corridors of the palace halls to go about their routines as emperor Li's personal knights. Wenhua would go on patrol outside, while Weiheng would guard inside the palace, especially around Emperor Li Xi's chambers.

Chunyin leaned against one of the pillars of the small pavilion in the backyard of her room. He noticed the night sky was different from Jiang Yi and An Jia Li. He looked up at the sky full of stars and the full moon. There were many things he could think about, such as why he couldn't use his powers in the jade lake?, or why there were two additional characters in the story.

Chunyin thought and asked, is this really the world of the novel that he created? Is he really reincarnated in the world of his novel? if true, that means he should already know if the ending of Xiang Lian his lover will be with whom. Of course not with him who is now the villain emperor in his novel. But if he was really in the world of novels, maybe he had a chance to revise the story and change the content of the novel. A bit naive indeed, but after all, Chunyin still loves Xiang Lian. He wants to live together with his lover. Even if it meant he had to snatch Xiang Lian away from himself.

Chunyin chuckled, "silly" he said. He really didn't know what to say about his own thoughts.

Chunyin stretched out her hand towards the moon, "silver moon knight" he muttered. Chunyin thought about the Li emperor's nickname. The nickname really exists and is not what he wrote when he wrote the novel. Chunyin's mind returned to the past. He thinks rationally and honestly. When compared to him, Li Xi's figure was indeed more suitable for Xiang Lian. But on the other hand he also did not want to admit it. Forever, he would not like it if his Xiang-er was with Li Xi.

Chunyin was pensive again. This time he looked at his own hands and said resignedly, "I am Li Xi now and myself there will definitely think the same. He won't like it if I'm with Xiang-er..." thought Chunyin who was still competing with herself, despite the fact that he was in competition with Jiang Yi.

Apart from that, there was still something bothering him. About the reason Li Xi in the past killed Xiang Lian. Chunyin knows that Li Xi also likes her Xiang-er, but why did Li Xi kill Xiang Lian just because Xiang Lian doesn't accept his feelings?

Come to think of it, Li Xi was actually similar to Fengyin when it came to Xiang Lian.

"He shouldn't have the heart to kill Xiang-er," thought Chunyin. Given his current position as Li Xi. Chunyin judged that the former Li Xi would have behaved like her now. Even though they can't be together, at least he must think that 'what matters is that Xiang Lian is happy.'

The more he thought about it, Chunyin was again struck by the pain in his head. There was something stuck in his feelings that he couldn't describe like his heart knew the answer to his question but the answer couldn't reach his brain so Chunyin couldn't think of the answer he should know. Something blocked his memory.

Cold sweat rolled down profusely, no matter how painful his head was. Chunyin tried to open the blocked path.

A glimpse of the shadow was finally able to pass through the gap that had opened slightly. Memories of winter flashed through Chunyin's head like a movie trailer spinning short and fast.

Chunyin saw the sight of thick snow covering a flower field. Even if it's just a memory. Chunyin shivered. Cold sweat spread all over his body, his underwear was even wet like he had just finished martial arts training drenched in sweat. Chunyin could feel the winter wind blowing against her body.

His breath was getting heavier. His whole body was shivering with cold but Chunyin also reacted like she was surrounded by fire. The summer air became so thin around him that Chunyin couldn't breathe properly. He seemed to be experiencing symptoms of anxiety that was relapse.

Chunyin slumped down slowly. His grip on the wooden post he was leaning against began to weaken until Chunyin sat down limply. Memories of this afternoon are spinning. Chunyin felt the same way as she sank in the jade lake.

"Xiang-er…" Chunyin whispered. He clearly remembered Xiang Lian's voice speaking to him in the jade lake. Xiang Lian was actually talking to Chunyin in the water back then with a sad face.

Chunyin was still trying to remember his blocked memory. Xiang Lian's words on the jade lake back then should still have a continuation. The reason he apologized to her.

"I'm sorry... Yi-ge, I promise I won't forget you-..."

The harder Chunyin tried to remember it, the weaker he consciousness became so that he couldn't continue forcing his head to remember Xiang Lian's words so the words ended up being just like lip movements muttering to his without a sound, and Chunyin didn't even notice after that. It sinks into his subconscious. Even though he couldn't figure out what Xiang Lian was saying, Chunyin had a dream that was enough to make his feel warm.

The snow melts, the flowers bloom. Winter has passed and spring has come bringing its beauty and warmth.

"This view..."

Chunyin looked around, as far as the eye could see he only saw a domineering expanse of green and white. Chunyin remembered this scene. The scene was similar to the scene in his memory although it was slightly different because before what he saw was a white expanse of snow that covered the entire flower field where he was currently standing. Right under a dense cherry tree, Chunyin can see a great view from where he stands

Chunyin watched the flower fields silently. His feeling was quite peaceful until he saw the flower vines growing nearby standing up. A white peony flower plant grows beautifully.

Chunyin stared at the white peony flower for a long time. There were a lot of emotional turmoil that he felt but he just let the turmoil churn, as if he was waiting for the stew he was cooking to cook.

The faint breeze that blew brought with it a faint voice that Chunyin yearned for. As the sun was shining brighter, someone appeared in front of Chunyin and put her a flower arrangement that had been arranged to form a flower crown.

Until that time, Chunyin seemed to be detached from his body. Now he can only see the sight of two people on a vast expanse of flower hills with a feeling of happiness before finally all the flowers suddenly wither, the sky becomes cloudy and lightning flashes.

The scene in front of Chunyin instantly turned into a terrifying battlefield. His happy feelings had now changed drastically to sadness and anger. Chunyin was pale. He looked down at his feet and then fell into a pool of blood flowing from the corpses of the soldiers who were there.

The feeling is whipping. He crawled between the corpses to go somewhere, but when he was about to reach his feet felt stone. It can't move forward anymore. His heart held it. He seemed not allowed to go any further.

Chunyin picked up the sword that was lying down and someone had slashed it and Chunyin woke up from her sleep. The last thing he saw before he woke up was a butterfly that had finally fallen on a flower. Even though he can no longer fly, at least he can still sleep on the flowers and have sweet dreams.

"Your Majesty?"

"Your Majesty, are you okay?" asked a voice that was still faint in Chunyin's ears because he only heard Xiang Lian's voice. He wanted to go back to sleep and hear the voice of the woman in the flower field again.

In a slight daze, Chunyin finally realized that Weiheng had been waiting for an answer from his with a worried expression on his face.

"Your Majesty, you fainted earlier. Are you okay? Should I call the royal physician?" said Weiheng who honestly was just about to see a healer, but just as he was about to leave the door Chunyin was delirious and a few moments later he realized so Weiheng didn't want to. Weiheng himself knew clearly that Li Xi always kept his illness a secret just because he didn't want to take medicine from a bitter healer. Therefore, Weiheng had to think twice about calling a doctor if Li Xi wasn't seriously injured such as being stabbed by a sword or whatever was threatening his life.

"Your Majesty, did you test the new poison again?" Weiheng said because he never got an answer so he could only guess what caused his master to fall unconscious. Although he wasn't sure because Li Xi was always testing poison in his special room. So there was no way that Li Xi would faint outside the room to test his artificial poison.

Few people know that Emperor Li Xi grew up with poison. His body has become immune to many deadly poisons although he still gets side effects such as severe nausea and fever.

"I'm fine, just tired a little..." said Chunyin.

"Okay. I'm going out, and you can call me if you need anything" explained Weiheng. He immediately left because he didn't want to disturb his master who somehow seemed to have a pretty bad feeling since they left the jade lake. Although Weiheng could see a hint of happiness on his master's face as he gave something to a servant girl.

"The one His Majesty gave the servant girl, wasn't it a hairpin?" After remembering that, Weiheng was silent for a moment before finally opening his mouth wide without uttering a word in surprise.

Weiheng screamed in his heart in disbelief "Your Majesty... Your Majesty... proposing to that girl?!"
