Stupid Little Confession

Inside the building of her University, on the top floor near the terrace, where no one ever enters except couples for some alone time, a young girl, with a tall frame, quite a chubby look, and silky black hair, feeling too nervous and excited, about her first confession in her entire life. She was just 18 years old at that time.

"I prepared for this a hundred times, no! Even more than that! So, it's going to be okay, nothing is going to go wrong. Don't worry. "

In the past few days, precisely since a month ago, she started liking a boy. She would miss classes and watch him play basketball, she would be extra nice to him, talk sweetly, wait for him at the entrance of the block so that they could go in together, lingering around after a bit more, but unfortunately, everything went unnoticed, so she decided that confessing her feelings were the right thing to do. So, as she was trying to calm herself down, she heard the boy's footsteps. Hearing that, she felt like her heart was trying to leap out of her chest. "He's coming, he's coming up here!!!! I need to confess, argghhhhhhhh!!"

The boy came upstairs, he was lean, wearing a blue sweatshirt and black pants, and with his hair messy, he looked carefree.

He came upstairs, and "Hey! Why did you send a message to come up here ASAP? Is there something going on? Are you ok? Do you need to talk?"

After hearing this, the girl slightly blushed, and thought internally, 'IF NOT NOW, THEN WHEN?', with a front of being brave, she looked into the boy's eyes and shouted, "I like you!". He was left stunned for a couple of seconds. Then when he opened his mouth as if to say something, she started speaking "It started a month back. I wanted you to notice it, but you didn't, so I'm telling this to you now. You don't need to give me an answer right now, I'll wait, but consider it carefully." The boy feeling surprised, wants to say something. Still, nothing comes out of his mouth other than air.

Taking opportunity of the boy's stunned situation, the girl stands on her tiptoes, slightly pecking the boy on his cheek and runs away in a hurry. The boy's eyes widen in shock, and he becomes still in the process. While going down the stairs, the girl, being as clumsy as she is, slips and falls a couple of stairs. "Owww!! My butt hurts, that was rough! Sheesh".

The boy starts laughing hearing her say it. The girl then blushes seeing her crush laugh, as she admires him from the bottom of the stairs. Then, as she remembers what she did just a couple of moments ago, she starts feeling embarrassed and quickly fleeing away from there.

She quickly went into the washroom, and inside a stall after making sure nobody was there in the entire washroom. (Obviously, since most of them might be in classes at this time of the day) She goes inside, locks the stall and starts banging her head on the door, wishing she could dig a hold in the Earth and hide. After a couple of minutes of embarrassment, she texts her friend to come to the washroom. 

While she was typing, suddenly, a girl came into the washroom. She has a shoulder-length lair and, a tall and thin frame. Seeing her, Cereus sighed in relief, "Thank god you're here! I was just about to ask you to come here." 

"Of course, I saw you running to the washroom like a monkey was chasing you, from the class window." replied the girl. 

"Oh god, did anyone else happen to see that too? As if I'm not embarrassed already. I feel terrible!!!! Oh god!!!" exclaimed Cereus.

"It's ok, don't worry. It might be your good luck but nobody else saw that happening except me, who knew you were going to confess today. Now, to the main point, how did the confession go???" asked the friend.

The friend's name was Molly. Cereus and Molly were childhood best friends. They were so close since they'd been studying in the same institutions throughout their school life, and they also got admitted into the same university. They both were neighbours, until middle school, when Molly moved into another house. When that took place, both Molly and Cereus were so devastated, that they threw a collective tantrum of not eating for 3 days entirely. But it didn't even last for 5 hours when both of their parents started tempting them with their favourite food. Food is a big, in fact, a very huge weakness for both of them.

Back to the topic, when Molly asked her how the confession went, Cereus replied, "Urgh, so bad. I was so scared, that I just shouted "I like you!" to his face. Plus the most idiotic part was that I slipped and fell down stairs while coming down, but I did see him smile, so it was worth it I guess..."

Molly slaps Cereus' face lightly as to wake her up and says, "You lovestruck fool! You are never going to improve at this rate!"

Cereus grins like a fool. But then she remembers that the boy she likes looked surprised when she confessed her feelings and shocked when she kissed him. Right now, she wasn't sure that he would accept her proposal. " Oh wait, I said I liked him, but I didn't ask him to be my boyfriend, oh god, what if he thinks I'm a weirdo who just said my feelings and didn't ask him, oh god? That's the last thing I wanted to happen, shit."

While Cereus was contemplating her behaviour in front of her new crush, Molly brought her from her daydreams back to reality. Molly said, " We have the exam for our Course this Saturday. And we both haven't even started preparing. I'm planning on starting today, what about you? When are you going to start? Or do you want to stay here daydreaming and fail the exam?"

Cereus complains, " Do you have to do this every time? I know I'm not any topper like you, but why do you need to rub it in my face like this? Don't do this to me!!!!"

Molly makes a face at Cereus and counters, " I'm the one doing stuff? Oh please, you go on and on about your little crush every day and I listen to it without ever complaining. At least be thankful Cer." And hearing that, Cereus rolls her eyes and makes a face at Molly.

Cer is the nickname that Molly calls her and in return, Cereus calls her Mol. They both hate each other's nicknames, yet still respond whenever the other calls them. Cereus and Molly's friendship is mostly a bickering one. Initially, they just stayed friends as they were neighbours, and their parents were friends, but due to spending a lot of time together, they created a bond, formed due to continuous bickering, brutal truth, and little politeness and modesty.
