Chapter 7
Quinn is the first that seems to recognize this and he stands up, giving Skylar a slight nod before heading toward the door and dragging all their shocked, angry, and worried friends with him. Skylar is grateful, but he wishes the grey-haired doctor would go with them. He’s not really looking forward to what she has to say.
“Is that better?”
He just nods.
She smiles at him again, trying to set him at ease. It doesn’t work. “Skylar, my name is Dr. Fleming, but you can just call me Alice.” When Skylar doesn’t respond, she carries on. “Do you know where you are?”
He nods without looking up at her.
“I’m going to need you to give me a verbal answer, Skylar. I need to make sure you are okay.”
“Herman Memorial,” he says quietly.
She opens the file in her hands and studies it. “Do you know what day it is?”
