Chapter 3
Quinn opens his mouth intent on a methodic ‘I’m fine’ but his throat closes around the words as his eyes lock on Skylar’s prone form again, the look of pure terror on Skylar’s face flashing before his eyes. “Oh God, what did I do?”
“It’s not your fault, Quinn,” Rhys reassures. “He’s been through a lot. He’s disoriented, confused, and probably thinks he is still back there with his attacker.” Quinn doesn’t comment on Rhys’s choice of words. No need to reiterate what they both already know. “You did the right thing, he could have severely injured himself.”
Quinn isn’t quite convinced, but he nods anyway.
“Is that normal?” he asks, still in shock, but curious. “Do people always come out so suddenly?”
