Chapter 21
“Do you want to go back?” Quinn asks, because he doesn’t think Skylar is in any sort of mindset to be doing anything right now. Or maybe that’s exactly what he needs. Either way, Quinn’s not going to make this decision for him.
Skylar shakes his head.
“Are you sure?” Quinn asks because he wants to make sure Skylar isn’t just going along with what he thinks Quinn wants. “We can do this another time—”
“No. I w-w-want to g-g-go.” His voice is soft but there’s a sort of determination in his tone.
Quinn nods, still unsure but happy Skylar at least is being adamant about something. “Okay, just hold a second.” He exits the car and immediately gets pelted by the unrelenting rain. Water splashes under his feet as he rushes to the boot and unlocks the lid, pulling at his overnight bag and extracting a towel. He slams the boot closed and dashes back inside the car.
