With a young idol by her side（1）

.To her surprise, it was Oliver.

Wasn't he supposed to be in a closed training for a music program?

"What are you doing here?" She sat up and noticed a bandage wrapped around her wrist and an IV needle in her other hand.

Oliver's expression was not good. "You had a fever of nearly 40 degrees. If I hadn't come to see you, I don't know what would have happened."

Jane felt embarrassed. She hadn't fully recovered from her last cold and had been neglecting her health with all the recent events. Who knew it would turn into such a high fever?

"Where's Jack?" She looked around but couldn't see Jack anywhere.

Oliver held her down, not letting her move around. "Jack is in the next ward, he's running a slight fever too."

Jane frowned, it was all John's fault!

But it was over now, she had finally divorced him.

But then she thought of Jill, and her heart still ached.

"Cough--" Probably a viral infection, causing her to cough again.

Oliver quickly poured her a glass of warm water. After taking a few sips, she finally settled down. "Why did you suddenly come back?" she asked.

Oliver picked up a pear from the bedside table and carefully peeled it. "I took a break and saw those rumors online, so I came back."

Jane felt embarrassed.

Oliver was only 20 years old this year, a rising star in the entertainment industry, and a true "fresh meat" actor.

He was a child star and had been acting since he was young. He was quite famous, especially after he grew up and his looks became stunning. After he became an adult, he signed with Starlight and was one of the most promising male actors in the company.

The problem was, as an actor, he didn't really like acting. Instead, he loved singing. Whenever he had time, he would come to her to learn music.

Through their interactions, they had become quite close.

He wanted to learn from her, but she refused. In the end, he started calling her "Sister" to show respect.

When your personal matters are seen by people you know, it's always uncomfortable.

"Do you believe those things?" Oliver finished peeling the pear and cut it into even pieces, placing them on a plate in front of Jane. "Which one? The one about you lip-syncing or the one about the child not being John's?"

This was not only embarrassing, but downright humiliating.

Jane looked sad, being slandered like that was painful.

Oliver looked at her and said firmly, "Every one of them is baseless."

Jane was moved and picked up a piece of pear. It was crispy and sweet.

Oliver continued, "Does a real singer need someone else to sing for them? Those who spread these rumors are despicable, and what's even more hateful are those brainless fans who blindly attack you without knowing the truth. It makes me so angry."

"And then there's the ridiculous accusations about Jill and Jack. It's so absurd that people would use that to slander you, and even worse, some people actually believe it. It's laughable."

Overall, in Oliver's eyes, Jane could do no wrong and there were no problems with her.

As Jane listened, her eyes began to well up with tears. John didn't believe her, but Oliver did. He was better than John.

"Sis, you should rest and focus on getting better. Don't worry about these annoying things for now." Oliver noticed Jane's unhappy expression and quickly stopped talking.

When the nurse came in to change the IV bag, Jane noticed the distinct purple nurse uniform of St. Mary's Hospital, where she was being treated. The female nurse blushed when she saw Oliver, and Jane realized that with her current level of fame, if she were caught by the press hanging out with Oliver, who was a rising star, it would cause a scandal.

After receiving IV fluids all day and taking a nap in the afternoon, Jane's fever had gone down, and Jack had recovered his energy.

At dinner time, Oliver brought back takeout from a nearby restaurant. Just as they were about to start eating, Jane's phone rang. She answered and heard Elizabeth's voice on the other end, "Jane, come home for dinner tonight."
