Some say that death by drowning is the most beautiful way to die. It was like returning to your mother's womb, surrounded by the feeling of warmth, safety, peace, and tranquility.
But the reality was not like that. The process of dying by drowning was very painful... very, very painful.
The body would reflexively make the airway keep above the water, followed by the struggle to hold your breath. Indeed, 70% of the human body consists of water, so if you think about it, water shouldn't kill them either.
But unfortunately, there was air in the human body. When the airways are closed, the air will expand to find its own way out. As a result, the body would begin to float toward the surface, but again, unfortunately, the water pressure would try to keep the body in the water.
The struggle only occurs a few moments before the brain and every cell in the body scream of their need for oxygen. Then the respiratory pathways that are closed would reflexively open again, inhaling the water around them in desperation.
Even in oceans filled with water, oxygen can still be found, united in a certain chemical formula, and maintains life in it. However, the human body does not have organs to breathe oxygen contained in water. They are not endowed with gills like the finned creatures they have been hunting.
Like an opened dam door, water would enter the lungs. Going where it shouldn't go is something harder than gas. Next… we describe it as a 'burning sensation'.
The body would feel like it was burning from within, melting its organs to the point of stinging every nerve. The brain at this point would only receive one piece of information, Pain.
That's how the woman felt.
A pain that made her feel like she was being burned alive from within. She tried to struggle and she had done it. But unfortunately, her body already felt numb. The bullet that penetrated right through her spine numbed every nerve to the point that her body became paralyzed.
Every time her brain sent a command to move her arms to paddle out, the command would inevitably be lost among the disconnected networks, but anxiety and panic kept her trying to struggle.
Hanging on to the tread of the human survival instinct. What happened was not the salvation she sought but the approaching death.
The woman continued to struggle until she lost strength. But it was okay, this was the last stage of her suffering. After this, she would only feel… tranquility.
With time, the impairment of gas exchange, and the dilution of surfactant caused by the presence of water in the terminal airways, led to worsening hypoxia, hypoxemia, and, eventually, anoxia. There is a depletion of brain energy reserves, failure in brain energy metabolism, deterioration of brain function, loss of consciousness, and irreversible neuronal cell injury.
The woman knows that this is the end... The end of her journey... A short journey that only contains suffering after suffering... In what little consciousness she has left, the woman feels grateful that all of this will end...
It's just… she has one regret… Her little sister.
"I'm sorry I wasn't able to protect you… I'm sorry I had to leave you alone… My little sister… I'm sorry!"
The calm water suddenly rippled violently. Her eyes were starting to blur when she saw a figure approaching. The woman thought that this was the embodiment of her death but she was wrong…
The figure pulled her body out of the ocean and carried her to the shore while screaming something she couldn't hear from her water-filled ears. The woman could see the figure, he was a man, his face showing worry.
However… her already exhausted body was unable to stay awake. Her consciousness faded away, and the last thing she saw was the man bringing his lips to hers.

"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!"
Shrill screams as if a corpse had just risen from its grave filled the room. Kylia grabbed her hair as she woke up from a nightmare with bloodshot eyes.
Del, who was beside her and who had been waiting for this to happen, immediately hugged her tightly while continuing to whisper in Kylia's ear. "It's okay… It's just a dream… I'm here my fate.. I'm here… you are safe… I'm here… I will always be with you my fate!"
Del kept whispering and repeating that word, indicating his presence to Kylia. Until finally Kylia's screams stopped and her eyes focused. Feeling his warmth enveloping her, Kylia regained consciousness, looking at Del's handsome face beside her, Kylia knew that she was no longer alone to bear her nightmares every night.
"DEL!! wu..wu..wu…" warm tears rolled down Kylia's cheeks, as she hugged Del tightly, and inhaled his soothing scent. Like finding light in the midst of darkness and a warm home in the midst of a blizzard, Kylia held tightly to the rope that will always accompany her.
"It's okay… It's just a dream… I'm here my fate.. I'm here… you are safe… I'm here… I will always be with you my fate!" Del repeated his words again and stroked Kylia's back gently.
"Del…. wu.. wu.. wu.. wu.. I don't want to die… Del… I don't want to die! wu.. wu… wu… I don't want to leave you… Del… I don't want to die…"
"You're not gonna die my fate… you're not gonna die… there's nothing in this world that can take you from me.. not even death… You and I will always be together…"
"Really.. wu.. wu.. wu.. you and I will always be together?"
"I promise you my fate.. I promise you… If there is such things as God and death and they want to take you from me then I will kill them both… you are my fate and there is nothing that can separate us!"
"Del!!! wu.. wu.. wu.."
"It's okay… It's just a dream… I'm here my fate.. I'm here… you are safe… I'm here… I will always be with you my fate!"
It wasn't the first time Del had seen Kylia waking up from her nightmares, one could even say this happened almost every night, because of that Del had memorized the time Kylia would have nightmares and woke up to calm her down. At first, the nightmares only appeared once or twice a week, but recently they have started to increase in frequency.
Del initially thought this was the effect of Kylia's Sacred Kamboja Tree physique but gradually he realized that it was not that simple. Every time Kylia had a bad dream her soul fluctuated, becoming stronger and more solid.
This was very similar to the way an immortal was reincarnated into their new body. Their very strong souls could not be accommodated by a mortal's body, therefore it takes time to adapt, for their bodies to accept all of their souls.
In contrast to Del whose soul was sealed with 13 Firmament Seals by the Universe's Law. Reincarnated immortals do not defy laws made by The Great Dao instead it is a natural process they can choose to become stronger.
But the difference with Kylia was that these immortals had clear memories of their previous lives. Meanwhile, Kylia has absolutely no memory of her previous life and even though she is a very smart girl, her mentality is still at the level of a child.
Another oddity is that Kylia is unable to remember the details of what happened in her dream but the feelings, pains, and emotions that occur in the dream can be felt clearly by Kylia. As a result, Kylia did not get any knowledge from her dreams but only trauma and deep fear.
Del was very concerned about this and decided to use Gaia's Information Exchange System. He exchanged all his knowledge of Golden Core cultivation but the points he earned were not enough to exchange for that information. As a result, Del exchanged all his information about low-grade talismans, formations, and pills but the points he got were still not enough.
Only after exchanging information about the Nascent Soul realm cultivation did Del get something. However, this information was so dangerous that the system had to warn Del again not to know about it. Del didn't complain and just asked for the name of the information he needed.
He knew that all information about himself and Kylia was highly restricted and hid a huge secret about this world. The system gave no more warnings and five words that were familiar to Del appeared.
Soul of The Old World.
"Science and technology is a form of power used by the Twin World Universe and sometimes it also appears in the Magic and Sword Universe. In the case with the Magic and Sword Universe, it depends on whether there is a soul transmigrator of the old world era or not..."
Groda's words from that time were still stuck in Del's memory. It was the first time Del heard an explanation of science and technology. Until now, Del still didn't understand what science and technology had to do with the soul of the old world.
More than that, the words "the old world" made Del's body have goosebumps and his head felt dizzy. When he tried to deduce those three words blood started pouring out of his nose. It was the same when Del tried to deduce nothingness to find out about his Point Start physique.
Therefore before he became stronger than an Immortal Paragon, Del could only leave this matter for a later date. The most important thing right now, was that Del understood the reason Kylia was always haunted by nightmares, the reason being that her soul was from "The old world" was trying to merge with her new body.
Kylia's soul was so strong that her Sacred Kamboja Tree physique was unable to contain it all at once. As a result, her soul could only wait for Kylia's body to become stronger and adapt, this adaptation process appeared in the form of a nightmare.
Kylia's strong soul was also Del's answer to why she was able to adapt more quickly to their body compatibility than Del. Del never thought that Kylia would have a stronger soul than his Immortal Paragon soul.
"Del…"
"mm?"
Kylia stared at Del with teary eyes, her golden eyes seemed to light up the darkness within his black eyes.
"Kiss me," Kylia said pleadingly.
"Yes, My fate!" Del complied with her request immediately.
Why do I feel jealous of my own made character?
