3:15pm....

Lorena was at her home now, Lorena wasn't rich nor was she poor, she didn't have the money to be called the wealthiest,but she had little in which she and her dad can satisfy all there needs. she went to her room, she put her bag in on her bed and took off her clothes, she went to the bathroom and freshen up, she changed her clothes and went to the kitchen to prepare food for herself as well as her father, whom just like her was gone since this morning, she prepared spaghetti and meatballs for them to eat at that time, by the time she was done preparing the meal, she heard

"Sweetheart are you back?"

Lorena smiled as she knew who called her, she went to the door and said

"Dad"

Lorena ran to him and gave him a tight hug

"oh sweetheart how I missed you?"

"I missed you too dad"

Alex let go of Lorena and asked

"Mmmmmmmhhhhh was is that amazing delicious smell am smelling from the kitchen, spaghetti and meatballs perhaps?"

Lorena laughed and told him

"Yesss!!!"

"Mmmmhhhhhh by just the smell of it I bet it tastes the same way"

"Hope so, come let's have the meal"

the two of them went to the dining table to eat.

"so how was your first day at high school"

Alex asked her this question as they were eating,then Lorena answered him back

"it was nice, I didn't had any troubles actually and I think the school's kinda great"

" That's awesome. am glad that you like your new high school"

" I love it dad, so now you tell me, I heard there was a murder this morning at the casino, are you perhaps investigating the case?"

" Actually yes, yes i am"

" And how is it going so far? "

" Not good, you see every technique that I use to solve this murder case blows on my face"

" Meaning?"

" There's no evidence, no clue, no hint, no nothing, the murder happened around 3am to 3:30am, we checked the CCTV footages and nothing came up, no one entered and no one left at that time, we also tried to call Mrs. Mart, the wife of the man who got killed, but she's not in New York city, she's in Chicago for two weeks now, we asked her if she knows any enemy who might try to kill Mart but nothing, she doesn't know any of his enemies, this is a very complicated case"

" Yeah it is, but don't worry dad, things will work out, it's only one day and you're already losing hope in solving this case."

" And who said am giving up? I will solve this case and find out who did the murder"

" That's the spirit"

the two of them smiled at one another, as she was eating, something popped in her head, then She ask him.

" Hey dad, you said you checked the CCTV footages?"

" Yes, no one entered nor left"

" Don't you think that's odd?"

" that nothing showed up in the footage? yeah I know, someone deleted the real footage and replaced it with the old one"

" Did you asked for further information about this?"

" No, I don't think the police officers are that stupid not to ask themselves the same question you and I are asking each other "

" So what do you think dad, that the police could be in cahoots with the murder?"

Alex looked at her daughter, he smiled and look down to his plate

"Let's not talk about it much Lorena, I'll figure out what's going on here with the police officers and the murders. let's enjoy the spaghetti that you made for me"

Lorena chuckled and said

"Ok dad"

The two of them continued having their meal. Lorena wasn't as stupid as how others thought she is, she's a smart kid, just like her dad, her brain is sharp, she could solve mysteries and understand what's going on when a. place looks unusual.

Alexander went to the police station, upon him entering in there, all the police officers looked at him, he entered inside and ask

"Where's the sheriff?"

"Hhhhh.. he's....."

the officer who wanted to answer him was shaking, he couldn't find the words to answer Alexander, then, he cleared his throat and said

"he already left"

"Where did he go?"

"Back home, but I think he'll be back later"

"so I should wait here til he comes?"

officer lee stood up and answered Alexander

" You can leave what you wanna tell him to us and we'll tell him"

"I got no problem with that"

Alexander took a seat and sat, then he said

"tell him to stop snooping around in my business"

"What business are you talking about sir?"

Alexander looked at officer lee, he stood and went to him. officer lee pulled all his courage and looked at him in the eye

"It's not like you don't know what am talking about"

"I actually don't know sir"

Alexander smiled at him, he licked his lower lip and said

" Don't get in my nerves police officer, or else you and your sheriff will go down to hell....and n sure you know that I am not a fun of jokes."

officer lee remained quiet and looked away, Alexander smiled and said

" Am sure that now you and I speak the same language, anyway, tell him what I said, I won't be coming back here anytime soon as am not a fun of this building"

as soon as he was done saying that, he left the building and left with his Bugatti.

as soon as he was gone, everyone released a breath which seemed like they were holding it in for quite sometime now,

" He really knows how to tense things up "

" Tell me about it, he's like the Grimm, everytime when he comes here I feel like there gonna be bloodshed"

" Yeah, and today I thought the next one to go to hell was Lee"

Kevin turned to lee and asked him

" What were you thinking answering him like that? you could have been killed"

" So?! so what?! people die everyday because of that man, people lose their dads, brothers and sons because of that bastard and your asking me why I answered him like that?! Kevin! we're supposed to be the police, the one who defends this city from a man like him and now look, we're defending him by harming the people whom we must defend with our lives"

" I know how you are feeling right now... "

" you don't because if you did, then you wouldn't have asked me why, and I've heard enough, when the sheriff comes, I'll tell him who has messed up this entire city, I'll tell him about the so called Mafia king Alexander and about him murdering Jeff Mart"

" Don't even think about telling the sheriff about this whole mess, do you know what will happen if you tell him"

" Yes, the down fall of Alexander"

" Ed explained this to me this afternoon about Alexander, he can't be taken down by just telling the sheriff the truth, even if you tell the sheriff, nothing can be done, because Alexander controls the entire New York system. so even if you tell the sheriff the entire truth, that won't make it any better"

" it will, he'll be jailed..."

" he won't be, because the high court is under him, he controls it, he won't be taken down Lee, Instead you'll be the one taken down, along with everyone you love, Alexander is the type of a guy who can't tolerate betrayal or lies, he'll murder you and everyone that is involved with you, your family,your girlfriend and possibility, even us"

Lee looked at him with anger as Kevin continued talking to him,but calmly this time around

"so please, stop doing anything you're planning to do regarding Alexander, just let it go, and don't get involved in this matters, let's just do what the sheriff asks us and Alexander"
