Muchen: Mum, I think I am unwell.

"You did good Bi Yu," said Luo Muchen his tone sincere but soon after that his attention was all on the hamster squirming trying to get away.

"Let's go, it's our turn to run," he said to Qie Xieling while draping his arm over his shoulders just like Qie Xieling did to him before.

Bi Yu watched the two of them leaving feeling a little irritable. Why? It was because Luo Muchen was still so distant with her. Even Qie Xieling called her YuYu but Luo Muchen still addressed her by her full name.

"Uh class president, if you keep hugging me like this people will think I am a narc. I have a reputation to uphold," said Qie Xieling having managed to escape.

"But I let you get away with a lot of stuff. I am like a corrupt official," said Luo Muchen with a slight quirk at the corner of his lips.

"More like an emperor who lets his concubine run around wreaking havoc," said Bo Ailun and Qie Xieling punched his arm lightly while saying,

"We will see who is the concubine when our team wins this race. If anything I am the main wife," said Qie Xieling putting on the sack.

Bo Ailun laughed softly while pulling the sack up as well. They both were finding this amusing but Luo Muchen looked like he was sick. This time it was his chest. It felt heavy like someone put a cement block on it.

Qie Xieling didn't even notice. He was pushing Bo Ailun to make him fall before the race even started. With a loud bang from the starter pistol, the group of boys started hopping like their lives depended on it. Qie Xieling especially enjoyed it even if he didn't win first place. He was so amused that he was still laughing about it at dinner.

With his pair of chopsticks, he pointed at Bo Ailun and said, "You looked like a worm when you fell. You even wiggled ahahaha what the fuck was up with that? Ouch.".

Before he could laugh himself half to death he was hit on the head with a rolled-up paper by teacher Wong while he was passing.

Qie Xieling, "..."

This man's hearing must be really good otherwise why was his timing so perfect?

"You want to hear a scary story?" asked one of the boys and Qie Xieling who knew his imagination was quite vivid and that he might end up having a nightmare refused.

"I am out. I would rather go roast marshmallows with the girls," said Qie Xieling.

Deming didn't want to let him go so he said, "Only scaredy cats wouldn't want to hear it. Are you also planning on backing down later? I mean if you are scared then I understand. You can just give up."

Luo Muchen couldn't understand the rest of Deming's sentence. He was pretty sure it had something to do with what they talked about before.

"Who is scared? Lin-ge isn't afraid of anything," interjected Bo Ailun.

The boy with big glasses said, "Then let me tell you about the creature rumoured to roam the mountains at night. They call it Aoyin and it has taken ten children from this very campsite leaving behind only a trail of blood," before turning the torch light on right underneath his face creating shadows.

Qie Xieling bit his lips trying to put on a brave front but his back had long grown cold.

"... it is said to live in a cave at the foot of a mountain. It resembles a large and terrible ox... but unlike a normal ox, it has an appetite for devouring humans. It is said in the dead of night people can hear loud crunching sounds of the bones of the dead being crushed with its sharp teeth," continued the kid who was incredibly talented in storytelling.

Qie Xieling would be lying if he said he wasn't scared. His complexion had turned ashen and his blood had long grown cold. Who in the hell lied to him that camping would be fun? It wasn't fun at all. Might of fact it was horrible.

It was precisely at this moment that Qie Xieling felt something crawling on his back. Terrified out of his mind he yelped with a start and almost fell off the log. When he saw Luo Muchen's hand hanging half in the air he was incredibly pissed. The group of boys laughed as he got up and left. "Uh, class president you didn't have to scare him like that," said Bo Ailun before running after Qie Xieling.

Luo Muchen, "???"

He really didn't mean to scare Qie Xieling. He just saw a beetle crawling on Qie Xieling's back and picked it up. Who would have thought Qie Xieling would be scared?

Qie Xieling didn't talk to him for the rest of the night. In fact, when he was brushing his teeth he was just glaring daggers at him. If looks could kill Luo Muchen would be long dead by now.

By the time Luo Muchen reached the tent Qie Xieling was already wrapped up in his sleeping bag with his cell phone chatting with someone.

Qie Xieling glanced in his direction before looking away but he didn't say anything. This made Luo Muchen's tummy ache for some reason. He felt like something was painfully clawing at the pit of his stomach.

He sat down cross-legged on his sleeping bag looking in Qie Xieling's direction but the person ignored him. Unable to bear it he called out, "Lin Lin."

Qie Xieling's brows furrowed and he shuffled to lay on his side with his back facing Luo Muchen. Without uttering a single word he had clearly conveyed his message.

Luo Muchen rubbed his chest at a loss. He also lay down deciding to give Qie Xieling some space. Maybe after sleeping on it Qie Xieling will stop being mad at him. He took out his cell phone and opened his mother's chat interface. With slight hesitation, he typed,

Muchen: Mum, I think I am unwell.

But before he sent it he decided to erase it. That's because he didn't want to worry her.

Muchen: Goodnight

After typing this Luo Muchen lay on his side facing Qie Xieling's back. He touched the side of his neck and could swear that he still felt the coolness from the tip of Qie Xieling's nose when it touched his neck earlier.
