At the entrance of the ballroom room Akala was standing with her father intertwining her hands in his arms, against them was Agira standing with his whole posture being so stiff to that point because of his hard stare even the lamp's light began to lose their flames.
How can a man be feeling good when he is betraying his woman? How can a man be standing on the altar for a woman he didn't want to share his whole life with?
His unforgettable memories with Athre were flashing in front of his eyes. Her smile, her eyes hold so much love for him, and her smooth hands handle everything with utmost care. For a moment he didn't want to do this sacrifice. For a moment he didn't want to marry Akala and become the supreme power of this whole vilvarah.
But he knows he cannot just stand at the altar and randomly preach to the people his mother sent wedding invitations that he, the lion king is in love with a she wolf called Athre.
People can talk shit about whatever they want but the heart wants what it wants. And Agira's heart wants Athre. Her alluring presence itself will bring unveiling peace to his soul.
Akala's face may be mistaken for a bright sun because she was smiling without any break just by thinking the man standing at the altar would be hers in just a few more moments. Agira will be hers, all hers to cherish and fight. Then she takes her steps forward.
A cool breeze hits her face, and she smiles thinking that nature itself is happy with this union while Agira feels like it's just the start of the storm after this cool breeze. With every step she took forward, she remembers her daydreaming about this day.
From her childhood itself, she has been crushing on Agira. I mean who wouldn't, who wouldn't stop at any length to watch this specimen of a man wake up in the morning just to cook breakfast for them and have a pillow fight every night just to sleep in his strong arms as compensation for fighting. Akala dreamed about Agira doing all those couple things with her after their wedding.
If everything happens just as we thought, it should then what is the use of fate's existence in everyone's life?
The ballroom was filled with white flower garlands and pearls. Every corner was filled with white lamps making it surreal for every person. A carpet with heavy reddish-brown fur was spread on the pathway leading to the throne.
The ceiling of the ballroom was filled with pearls and diamonds bearing chandeliers with brightly lit scented candles these made the ballroom a perfect venue for the union of two souls so in love with each other. Of course, it was, except for the groom.
Everything seems to be moving slowly for Agira and Akala. Akala was feeling that at this moment she found her purpose in her life, while Agira was feeling all these people standing in front of him having a dagger in their hands and coming towards him to kill him.
For a split second, he felt like his demise was calling him. But that demise could not even pluck a single strand of his hair unless that demise included Athre looking at him with an expression slamming him like 'why?'.
He smiled in pain thinking of Athre's reaction after him betraying her, after him breaking her trust. Truly fate is a bitch in his situation.
How cruel when the bride did no wrong but was excited about her life after the wedding with her husband while the husband himself was mourning for his brutal betrayal.
As Akala made her way to Agira the pianist played a piece that flashed every person in that room so much emotion. Just like that Akala comes and stands beside Agira, then the royal advisor starts the occasion by saying "I welcome everyone to this auspicious morning of this day, let unite these two souls as one".
After this both the bride and the groom were made to stand against each other, and their hands were made to hold each other with the royal advisor standing in between them.
The advisor then asks the groom "With the moon goddess's grace and the whole vilvarah kingdom citizens as the witness I ask Prince Agira to recite your vows". Agira looks at Akala with his eyes reflecting no emotions and adds "For richer or poorer, love, my fortune lies with you, through thick and thin, we shall endure, in all we say and do." Then the advisor looks at Akala and adds "you may now recite your vows, princess".
Akala's face instantly lights up as she excitedly looks at Agira then she adds "In days of yore, when love did soar,
And chivalry did charm, I pen these vows, with words of grace, to keep your heart from harm. In castles grand or humble huts, With you, I'll gladly dwell, And build a future, hand in hand, Where love and laughter swell. My love, I pledge my sacred troth, to honor and protect your soul, in times of joy or wroth."
Everyone smiles wholeheartedly watching the bride's love for her man and his people. Then a garland filled with different wild white flowers was given to the bride and groom and then the garlands were exchanged by making them wear it by the other. Then the advisor said, "I now announce you as husband and wife". Everyone looked at the newlywed couple with adoration.
The advisor then adds "As we witnessed the wedding of our prince, it is time for the coronation ceremony".
Two maids came with crowns for the king and queen. The advisor then takes the crown from the maids and makes them wear for Agira and Akala. Then the advisor adds "Now let us hear your oath as a king and queen of vilvarah".
A sharp axe-shaped weapon was placed in front of Agira and Akala, then Agira swiped his bare hands against the axe spilling his blood on the scepter.
Then Agira and Akala recite "I, the ruler of this noble land, with the crown upon my head, shall stand, to serve my people, just and wise, with honor that shall never guise. I swear to uphold the laws of old, with dignity and valor bold, to lead with grace and selflessness, to bear my kingdom no undue stress.
Thus, these oaths we solemnly swear, to our people's welfare, we declare, in this grand tapestry, we're entwined, As king and queen, for all of time."
Then the people in the ballroom applauded screaming "Hail the king and queen of vilvarah".
Just as the people were happily whispering among themselves King Agira's younger brother Bhagira came to the couple and said "Congratulation brother! You got the beautiful one", he said eyeing Akala from head to toe as if he wanted to imprint her body in his mind.
Then Agira smirkingly adds "It's beautiful because it stands beside me". Because Agira knows that no one is a saint when it comes to something forbidden, something they couldn't have.
