I Didn't Know It Was This Bad
"Im sorry that'd happened to your mom", Fausto says to John. "Don't be", John replies." At first it made me feel kind of weird, to not know what my mother wanted to be and when she finally got to experience what she wanted to be, she passes away. But I remember a conversation we had before she passed and then I don't feel so bad about it", he continued.
Fausto doesn't say anything, he assumed that John will go on and tell him because of his habit of over-talking. But for the first time, he notices that maybe John doesn't feel like talking. With all the suspense left in him, he decides to ask John, "What did she say-?"
"Fausto, Whats that ahead of us?", John interrupts him without taking another step. Fausto was so distracted by John's story that he wasn't watching where he was walking. John raises his hand points in the direction that has mystified him. Fausto looks in the direction and he lays his eyes upon a horrible sight.
A woman struggling for help while a man is dragging her by the hand. At first Fausto and John don't know what to do but they both run to help the woman. "Hey what do you think you are doing, bastard!," yells out John. Fausto runs to grab the woman while John goes to attack the man. John hits the man on the head and recognizes the man while Fausto recognizes the woman. It's one of their coworkers, Isaac and his girlfriend, Katya.
"Isaac! What the hell are you doing man!", Fausto yells at him. "I have to return where I came from Fausto. The murmurs of the ocean call for me, soon they'll call for you too", Isaac says marching forward while John beats on him. "I don't want to have to break your arm! Let go of her right now!," yells out Fausto.
Not knowing what do, Fausto begins to yell for help, hoping someone will come to their aid but no one ever does. Ultimately deciding on what to do, Fausto makes the move, he grabs Isaac's elbow and bicep and in a quick movement, he breaks his arm. Isaac lets out a scream of pain, "I'm sorry I didn't mean to hurt you Katya!", Isaac says as he breaks free from his trance. "But we need to return to the ocean, that's the only way we will survive", Isaac returns to his trance like chant. However, in a shock, Fausto never realized how strong he was, just grabbing his arm and it snapped.
"John! He won't let go of her!", cries out Fausto. John goes to break the wrist that is dragging Katya. Again Isaac lets out a cry saying that he is sorry but immediately returns to his chant like trance. Luckily this time, since his wrist is broken he releases Katya and Fausto quickly takes her away from him.
"Fine! I never needed you anyway! You weren't there for me to begin with Katya!", yells out Isaac, "The only one that was there for me since the beginning was the water, nothing made me feel better than the calls of the ocean!"
Isaac continues to walk forward with his completely broken arm. John asks," What the hell was that?"
"Should we stop him?", asks Fausto.
"No way, if he can walk off with a broken arm like that... he probably on drugs or something, stopping right now can only be bad for us. I have his home address at work. we'll just call the cops when we get there. Is there girl ok?
Fausto had Katya wrapped in his arm and looks at her. She has tears running down her eyes and looks considerably frighten by the whole ordeal. However, he shares that same frighten expression as her because he notices that she has blood flowing down her chin.
"What happened to you?", Fausto asks.
Katya opens her mouth to speak but only sounds and more blood escape her mouth. She's had several of her teeth bashed in and her tongue crudely removed.
"John come here!", yells out Fausto. John comes and they both see what Isaac has done to Katya's mouth. "We should take her the the hospital!", Fausto tells John. "No, no you take her. I need to go find out where that son of a bitch lives so we can send him to that can."
"Ok", Fausto says as he grabs Katya's hand and runs to the local hospital.
