Prologue 3: The Beginning of The End

Austin came to a halt after running a mile and walking six more. He leaned against a tree and sat down. He began to laugh," Hehehe Ha haha ha uh hu!" his laughter slowly turned into a crying fit. "Why? Just why," He yelled at the sky.

"Why am I like I am! All I have ever wanted since I got my mind in order is to live out a boring normal life, why can't I even do that! Some one any one just tell me why!"

"Do you want us to tell you?"

Austin froze. The voice that spoke was his own yet not his own. it was the voice of one of those voices that he silenced years ago. As if to salt the wound that is today, they are back.

"Well do you," Another asks. "I recommend hearing why? it's rather interesting," says the last of the three.

Austin hung his head. If they were back at least he wouldn't be alone. He accented, "Sure, tell me what you know I guess."

The first voice explained, "That day you told us to stay silent, you inadvertently closed yourself from the energy of the world."

Austin gave him an incredulous look, "I thought you were going to give me an answer not some mystic mumbo-jumbo. This is the real world, not some fantasy, trust me, if it were I know what I'd be doing right now."

The first voice retorted, "The world is much closer to a fantasy than you think."

The second voice vouched, "What he says is true."

The third voice asked, "What would you be doing in a fantasy world?"

Austin continued to sit under that tree passively observing the forest as he continued, "I'd want to learn magic. I know It's impossible, but I've always felt a strong urge to look at anything to do with wizards, or magic. Well except magicians, that is more slight of hand and deception, than magic."

The first voice reproached Austin and the third voice, "You two are getting off topic! What I was saying is true. When you cut off the worlds energy you won't have any luck, and in world with high energy levels, cutting off the worlds energy can kill you. luckily for you, pun intended, this world is what you would call a hollow world. A world with almost no energy."

Austin was more confused than ever. He asked, "what do you mean world. you say it like you've been to and have seen other planets. I must have been more insane than I thought to even give credibility to a figment of my imagination."

The three voices suddenly had a stern aura. the first voice spoke up, "Young Austin. We are not and have never been fake. We are parts of your soul that can recall a part of our past. I was a wizard by the name of Odexes"

the second voice spoke up, "I used to be a wizard by the name of Irabell. Though given how I'm recalling things more slowly than Odexes, I was probably not quite as powerful."

The third voice spoke up, "I only remember swinging a sword. I assume I used to be a swordsman."

Austin took all of this information in. "Man I am either going even crazier due to the stress of today, or... Say I believe you, is there anything you can do to prove it."

Odexes, gave off an aura of joy, "I'm glad you ask. This world has very, very little world energy, it should have enough for you to feel it. follow my instructions."

He instructed, "Sit or lay down comfortably. Breath in deeply, breath out slowly. Focus on the center of your forehead."

As he was listing things to do Austin did as he said, but felt nothing.

Odexes seemed to have a smile, "now with your focus on your forehead, imagine that a small vortex or twister is there making a path for your brain to the rest of the world."

Austin with doubt did exactly that. Nothing happened. He continued to do that until he could no longer take it. He felt it was stupid, pointless, and foolish to continue hoping for a miracle.

Austin opened his eyes only to be mesmerized. Through the pines, he saw an aurora hanging in the sky against the pale moonlight. it was like something out of a fairytale.

This is were the real fun begins :)
