Chapter 16: In Which They Come to terms

"Oh crap" escapes Isla's mouth when they pull away, breathless, staring wide-eyed at each other as they came to terms with what just happened.

"Oh, crap sounds about right" Alexander grumbles out as he looked at her flushed face, her lips plump and wet, and eyelashes still damp from her previous crying spell.

"Oh no, no no this shouldn't have happened, I shouldn't have kissed you," she said in a panicky state, trying to scatter off his lap but he held her in place, his arms tightening around her.

"Why? Do you regret it?" he asked, brows raised, face sincere.

"No! I mean yes ... I mean no! I mean I don't know!" she said frustratedly waving her hands. I have found it absolutely endearing.

Then again, he found everything about her absolutely endearing.
