Chapter 14: In Which He is Shocked

The moment they were out and clear of Mr. Gambino's study room and guards Isla took off in a sprint heading straight out the main door of the main house with Alexander following suit.

"Wait!" He tried to stop her, to ask her what was wrong as they ran right to the gardens.

Isla however, even though remotely aware of Alexander's presence, couldn't even hear him over the wind whooshing through her ears and the cold tears streaming down her face as she blindly ran not looking anywhere, trying to run away from this whole situation, trying to escape this cage.

"Isla listen to me" he tried to reason with her, tried to stop her but she wouldn't as they ran farther away from the main house.

Alexander's patience finally ran thin as he picked up his pace and easily caught up to her, grasping her arm and yanking her right towards him as he brought both of them to a halt.

Isla let out a heart-wrenching sob as Alexander held her face in both his hands, making her look right up at him.
