38.Mimosa

Mu Jiang walked into the restaurant wearing a white tux and white fur overcoat drooped over his shoulders, looking like a deity and extracted a lot of attention from his surroundings.

Lots of gasps and whispers followed as he walked into the private room. Mu Jiang didn't wait for long before the door of the private room was pushed open and Yang Ling walked in wearing a black turtle neck top and black pants.

She closed the door and placed her bag on the table and sat down. Mu Jiang saw her pressing her lips and eying him like he was the one who the Kohinoor diamond. He ignored her expression and sipped his coffee.

Yang Ling cleared her throat to break the silence which was getting on her nerves. 'Like really!! He was the one who called for the meeting and now he was behaving like a scared cat bullied by the tiger.hmph'😒

"So, What is it that you want to talk about? Didn't I say that we will have our next meeting with all the executives of both the companies?"

Mu Jiang placed his cup down and licked his lips trying his best to hide the nervousness in his heart and smiled at Yang Ling, " Right but... I thought it is best to discuss a few things so that the employees can prepare the proposals keeping them in mind"

"Hmm" Yang Ling nodded her head. True if they could discuss few important things now and inform their employees then the workload can be reduced and they can discuss everything in one single meeting.

"Okay then lets...." Before she could say anything Mu Jiang stopped her by raising his hand.

"Let's just order something" Seeing her raising her eyebrow🤨, Mu Jiang continued "I am hungry and I cannot work with an empty stomach"

Yang Ling stared at him for a while before nodding her head. They ordered some wine along with some light western food since it's still early for dinner.

While they waited for the dishes Mu Jiang was trying hard to think of a way to start a conversation about that day, Mu Jiang can swear that this was the first time in his life that he hesitated to speak his mind.

He knew it wasn't his fault but he also knew that if he didn't clarify himself and come clean today, then he could never since Yang Ling won't give him another chance. It was such a tiring job to convince a woman 'shhh'😥

While Mu Jiang was having trouble talking, Yang Ling was having her own internal struggle in her mind. From her view, Mu Jiang was just casually sipping his coffee looking all calm and composed, seeing this she gritted her teeth to stop herself from biting the man in front of her.

From the day she stormed out of his office, she has been waiting for his call or something so that she could give him a chance to explain himself, and here he was just sitting there sipping his coffee.

Lately, she has been moody all day long, everyone around her suffered in her hands one way or the other. She tried to control all the emotions in her heart and repeatedly told herself not to expect or have hope only to have it to get broken again.

All she ever wanted was a man who she could trust, lean on, and spend her life with him. A man who is loyal to his wife and only her, a man who believes in his wife's words even when he is facing thousand of words that go against her's.

For Yang Ling marriage is a lifetime promise to be a support to each other and to be the backbone of each other. Just like her parents, her mother, and father got into an accident although her mother died on the crime scene her father was saved. But love was just unfair it always makes us pay and her the grief of his wife's death just ate her father so much that he died lying beside her mother's body in the hospital itself.
