"You've got to be kidding me right now…" Lucas muttered angrily, as he saw his cover get blown right in front of her. All he had asked for was the key, and there she had come with an extra guest.

"You…" Xavier said, as he instantly made out Lucas's face. "Alpha Charles has been looking everywhere for you. What a delight that he'll see you right here in his fortress, comfortably seated in his queen's bed-- the same queen for which you were nearly executed."

"Don't even dare…" Lucas suddenly sprung to his feet, with a readiness to engage him physically.

"Please calm down, you too…" Charlotte said, handing the keys over to Lucas in her confused state. She stood in-between the two men, as they were already facing off with angry looks in their eyes. Her heart was about sinking to her belly, as she marveled at the blunder that she had made.
