Chapter 46 : Aboard The Ship (3/?)

- A Grandure Office , in Demacia -

Rhythmic tapping on the table caused a mighty and aloof women to swallow.

"Tianna." Lord Eldred tapped his golden table , reflecting a face piece that aligns with the identity of a mageseeker , a golden piece that covers a side of their face.

"Do not blame me , Eldred." Tianna muttered to her husband , a prideful arrogance in her voice , albeit more deflated than usual. "The spy went to the Freljord , and has confirmed that the boy is not present anymore."

"So?" Eldred voice started to raise. "He disappeared? YOU of all people should know that Sylas should be locked up in a cage , and yet your people are that insufficient in finding a cripple boy?" Eldred sat up , before sitting back down and restoring etiquette. "By now , he has already boarded the next merchant ship to Ionian."

"But there is a something more frightful." Tianna muttered , before getting a small glass container. Inside of the container contained something that was a remnant of a crystal flower , now broken up into little shards. "The spy's dead."

The crystal was something involved with the induction of the Dauntless Vanguard. They are each given a crystal that is bound to their life , and if the crystal breaks it is a grave omen that their life is lost , faded like the petal's of a rose in the fluttering wind.

"So what , your suggesting that a cripple boy killed a elite spy?" Eldred rubbed his temples. "I wouldn't even be surprised at this point."

"Eldred!" Tianna raised her voice. "You shall not squander the reputation of the Dauntless Vanguard! the amount of times we have led Demacia to victory-"

"Silence." Eldred hissed , causing the room to go silent. "Speak no more of the subject , focus on Sylas and his execution. It could be a possibility that the Illuminators have sent a guardian to watch over the boy. Investigate it ; i expect results."

"...." Tianna lost her pride for a second , before shaking her head. "...Very well...."

A elderly women stood on a tightrope of spider-like webs , blood present on her hands ; illuminated by the moonlight seeping through the crack of the forest.

The area around her was like a spider's nest. Thin wire coated the place , with several tree's implanted with a needle that is rare to see in combat.

The old women looked to the corpse in the forest, before a figure of a girl came behind her.

"Yvonne." Ashe looked towards the corpse , before looking towards the elderly women. "What is the meaning of this?"

The old grandma in front of her was replaced with a cunning spider , as Yvonne sighed.

"I expected more from a elite spy of Demacia. It seems my homeland is very disappointed." Bathed in the moonlight , Yvonne looked up to the sky with a sigh.

"He was after Ajel." Ashe came to the conclusion , which caused Yvonne to nod her head. "If he had stayed , he would of undoubtedly be slaughtered from a assassin of this skill."

"Are you all right?" Ashe's poro came behind her , as she examined the body of Yvonne.

"I am fine , young one. The years are catching up to me , that is all." Yvonne looked out of breath , before looking to Ashe. "The spy has been here for two years , which correlates to the time that Ajel was here , not to mention the sudden change on the views of the smaller clans could be seen as this man's manipulation."

The several conflicts that has happened over the years , all felt sudden to Yvonne. She just hopes that the peace could finally start to come around.

Roheen examined the blade on the boy's back , before giving a whistle.

"She's a beauty." Roheen looked to the blade , before clicking his tongue. "How much did she cost?"

"10 gold.... and my whole net worth." Ajel groaned , but he was satisfied with the spear.

He had finally escaped from the two hour rant by Quinton about how to use it , although useful , the enthusiasm of the adult was kinda off-putting towards Ajel.

"Care to share a drink with me in the bar?" There was a section to cafeteria where they sold alcoholic beverages.

Now , although this would contradict with what a normal army would give to their soldiers , most of these soldiers were gonna die on the battlefields , so they might as well get a drink before they go and charge towards their death.

"Sure." Ajel found out that the taste of cheap ale was a acquired taste , and one that he had gotten fond of through the past few years.

Walking to the bar , Ajel walked past several soldiers , each giving him and Roheen various looks of a mixture of disgust and curiosity.

Finally sitting down at the sleek wooden bar , Ajel looked towards the other tables , where the soldiers enjoyed drinking.

"I like it here." Roheen muttered, before ordering some ale and passing Ajel some.

"I have a feeling that you know everybody here." Ajel gave a smirk. "You wouldn't be the type of person to walk into a ship without knowing most of the residents. A merchants power is coin and information after all."

"You are not wrong , Ekwah." Roheen smiled , before chugging down the ale in a sudden manner. "But i only know the information of the most proficient members of this ship , the commanders , the general."

"There's a general on this ship?"

"General Farron." Roheen muttered , as he muttered. "A big bastard. Around 8 foot in height and wider than my hope , dreams and aspirations."

"They say a merchant's dream's are the greediest of humanity."

"My point exactly." Roheen gave his signature toothy grin , before laughing.

And then the room went silent.

Ajel turned his head to the door , before his brow furrowed again.

"Now.... that's the real question... who is he?"
