Chapter 45 : Aboard the ship (2/?)

Ajel walked through the ship , before getting his food from the cafeteria , which consisted on a rye bread , some soup with some strange vegetables in it , and some water.

It didn't taste bad , as the bread was still soft. However , through the 30 day journey , each meal would get progressly and progressly harder to swallow and eat for the fact that it will go stale and eventually dry up.

After moving out of the cafeteria, Ajel once saw the man with two other people at his side. However , they did not possess the cape that the high-class warriors of Noxus possesed , which showed that they were either low warriors or the man's descipes , which , knowing his strength , wouldn't be a surprise to Ajel.

The long slender halls of metal were filled with only the steps of Ajel as he slowly started to hear a hammer pounding at work.

Ajel come across the room , of which a sign in runeterrain said. "Noxus Forge."

Walking into the room , Ajel was presented with a long display of countless tools , some of which seemed to be magical , and had a price point on them. There was several weapons Ajel had never saw before.

"Can i help , you dear customer?" A man the same age as him came to him.

"Just looking at the weapons." Ajel muttered , as he observed the countless bows.

He remembered the good old days when the bow was his main choice of weapon.

"The bow of Tschuchh." The boy looked towards the great bow with a hint of passion in his eyes.

Ajel looked towards the boy , before comparing to the other blacksmith who had his throat carved out by his own father. He was more energetic , and more lively.

"Who crafted this?" Ajel looked towards the boy , before his eyes drifted over to the marble-like strongbow.

"My mentor , although he is busy with a meeting currently." The boy smiled over to Ajel , before reaching out his hand. "The name's Quinton Gallagher."

"Ajel."

"Just Ajel?" The boy raised his eyebrow , before shaking his head seeing the poisonous frown coming the boy opposite from him. "I apologize if i was improper. My curiosity has no bound's , you see."

Ajel clicked his tongue , he could tell.

Walking through the daggers, Ajel eventually came over to the polearm section, where several different types of weapons lay.

The pinwheel technique book and the body technique that he had gotten from the murder father was useful , as it could give him a idea of what he wanted his main weapon to be like.

A variation of the spear was what he was most wanted with , and if the spear tip ever became a viable weapon it meant he can handle it with some strength.

Ajel's eyes fell on a weapon , which he observed as a metal pole with a curved single-edged blade on the end , which glimmered with static , showing that it was enchanted with some sort of lightning attack.

"Ah , the Ionian Naginata." Quinton muttered , his eyes scanning the blade.

Ajel heard the word Ionian , before looking over to Quinton , only to see that there was no disgust in his words when he mentioned Ionia , which contradicts with the Noxian beliefs and things they say about the country.

Sensing his gaze, Quinton shaked his head.

"You want to know something about Ionia , which is carried on through all of their weapons?" Quinton gave a small smile , almost like he was getting enjoyment from talking about weapons. "It's that they are cheap to make , but are effective. Do you know the reason why?"

"They are not built for decoration, but efficiency." Ajel muttered, before looking towards Quinton , who nodded his head. "The fact they are a relatively peaceful state , there weapons are mostly used by peasants and not built to be grandeur in the slightest."

Ajel watched Quinton nod his head, before taking him over to a weapon that possessed a large scythe.

"A... combat scythe?" Ajel looked puzzled , as Quinton elaborated.

"The Ionian's are made out of farmers , mostly , and believe it or not when a farm tool get's adapted into a cold weapon of war , even elite's can get off guard , some even losing their life. It has happened before , and will probably happen before." Quinton had a red flicker in his eyes , before shaking his head. "Anyhow , i got a little bit distracted from talking. What weapon do you wish to seek?"

"Something resembling a spear. Nothing to heavy , has a conductivity of magic."

Quinton nodded his head, before he once again stuttered off to the polearms section with a gust of passion in his stride.

"Hmm.." Quinton's observing glare looked around the body of Ajel , which made the latter want to cry.

"The Naginata would be too heavy for you." Quinton's eyebrow raised. "You practise any body techniques?"

"Yeah , but the most basic one." Ajel had gotten this from the man.

"That's good to hear." Quinton said , before walking up to a weapon.

It was a fine weapon , but Ajel realised that there was something strange with it.

"Both sides are blades?" Instead of a guard or a handle , only a section in the middle possessed a handle , as at the bottom there was a blade that was identical to the top.

"The Glaive , a weapon used by Noxus , but also has been adapted to Demacian Silverwing riding." Quinton grabbed the blade , which gave Ajel a sense of confusion.

"Grab it." Quinton instructed , as Ajel watched the boy pass it to him.

Ajel quickly grabbed it , before feeling the weight of it.

"It's heavy!"

"No shit." Quinton laughed. "Input your mana into it."

Ajel did was intended , as simply inputting some mana was a basic task to him , unlike himself 2 years ago when the concept of mana was new to him.

The heavy blade felt light , as Ajel felt the blade's slowly start to get sharper and sharper.

The blade he could barely grasp a second ago was replaced with something that felt light and free.

"There was a very special thing with these Glaives." Quinton gave a small smile. "It is said that one proficient with a weapon that can change weight can create a tempo with it , like a beautiful melody full of blades and blood." he felt a sarcasm present in the boy's voice

"How do you imbue magic into weapons? or give them magic conductivity?" Ajel asked Quinton.

Laughter filled the room.

And then Quinton pointed to his leg , of which Ajel looked down at. The heavy iron leg had a alchemical rune on it , as Ajel's eyes widened.

"That's a trade secret , and certainty not one i would give to a alchemist."

Ajel was put on instant alarm , as he observed the boy that was the same age as him.

When did he look at his leg?

"So , are you buying the weapon or not?" Quinton changed the question almost immediately.

"What is the price?"

"10 gold."

Ajel felt a spiritual punch on his stomach.
