Chapter 35 : War Preparation

"/Continue./" Grena nodded her head.

"/I recommend we split our group into two, the main force and a force of people dedicated to harassing and bullying the enemy. Although my ability to fight and move is greatly restricted by my leg, I have no quarrel joining the main group and fighting head-on, but I think this is the most suitable approach./"

Grena was about to speak when she was beaten to the chase by a scary-looking ginger woman with the classic Freljordian blue eyes.

"/This may be the case, but there are a few flaws. Our clan doesn't approach the "cowardice" approach-"

Ajel attempted to cut in, but the woman shook her head.

"/Let me finish. But that isn't the main thing. How do we know we can trust you?/"

Ajel's brow furrowed. "Continue to elaborate, please."

"/You came to the Freljord not long ago, how do we know you're not working with outside forces? from what it seemed this attack was only made in a couple of days, showing that they want something from here, and on the border of the territory, Demacian troops have been seen committing petty tactics like the ones you recommend to us. How do we know you're not leading us to a trap?/"

"I understand your concerns." Ajel sighed, rubbing his temples.

"/Also, a tracker has found you go into a cave and isolate yourself for a long period. You can't help but agree that this is suspicious, no?" The woman didn't seem to harbour any malicious intent, just stating pure facts. "Although I agree with your proposal, countermeasures need to be made to protect the clan./"

"/I understand./" Ajel looked like a child that was getting scolded...

wait.

"/Where are they invaded from?/"

"/The north, but they mostly come from southern tribes./"

"/Have you ever thought of the possibility that the attacks aren't coming from Demacia, but from Noxus? their numbers are larger than a few tribes thrown in with each over, the possibility of mercenaries-/"

"/Enough, Ajel./" Yvonne sighed, she too seemed stressed by the talk. " I think we should monitor Ajel's next moves until the war tides down, and we should send this "scouting party." immediately to discover the intentions and find out if there are any foreigners in the army."

"/Dismissed."/ Grena did a classive Avarosan salute.

Everybody walked out of the door, remaining only Ashe, Grena, Yvonne and Ajel himself.

The room stayed in awkward silence before Ajel muttered.

"/What is an oath?" Ajel muttered. "I read it while I was in prison. Something that everybody here has to go through?/"

"/A war maiden has to go through it. It's where they sacrifice their bodies and their mind for Avarosa./"

"/What does it do?/"

"/Brings the connection closer to Avarosa, and it prevents the war maidens from ever betraying our tribe, and it prevents them from being murderous to the leaders of the clan, or any actions that destabilize it./"

"/So a fail safe?/"

Grena nodded.

"People of the tribe don't go through it, right?"

"/No./"

"Then a spy could be among the tribe."

"/Yeah, you./" Ashe snorted, as Ajel only shook his head.

"/Anyway, I could prove my innocence?/"

"/Unless you want to marry Ashe and become blood oathed, no,/" Grena muttered.

"/NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS!-" Ashe said, anger present in her eyes

"/Sorry, I'm not into children,/" Ajel snorted, before dismissing himself from the room.

Walking down the steps, Ajel saw two people blended in the shadows watching him from afar.

Do they train trackers like that?

unfortunately, mage vision locks onto living things in his vision and separates living being's from inanimate objects.

But he had already shown his vision to Yvonne, meaning she did this on purpose, it was a sign that she believes that he isn't the spy.

Since he was on house arrest, he would go back to meditation and try to start the effort of Alchemy and the second mana point on his body.

Walking to Yvonne's house, Ajel walked into one of the spare bedrooms and rested.

2 days later

(Freljordian)

Ajel looked back , before he walked up to the tent that Grena was currently inhabiting.

"Ajel , good to see you." Yvonne muttered , before she spread the tent's opening for him. "Come on in , we have alot to discuss."

Ajel nervously looked around , before hastily walking into the tent.

Grena's eyes were in a slit like a bird of prey , or more specially , a hawk.

(Get it... hehehehe)

"We have confirmed that their are some mercenaries in the army , one's belonging to Noxus. This means , that they have a informant or somebody in the village that is a spy. We need to root them out."

"Can't you read minds , Yvonne?" Ajel muttered , his eyes darting to Ashe before looking back. "Surely if we just group the suspects up and read their minds , it would be easier to extract information."

"We don't have enough time , and it would discourage public raport of us as leaders. A sign of weakness and desperation may cause the tribe to start planning... action." Ashe suddenly spoke up , as she looked into the eyes of Ajel. "Yvonne isn't omnipotent as well , their is a limit to her actions."

"I will speak for myself , Ashe." Yvonne shook her head , which caused Ashe to give a bow. "My apologies , elder."

Ajel looked to the ground , before he felt a thought slowly seep into his mind.

"I think i know who it is..."

Every bodies eyes darted over to Ajel.
