“I was wondering if you’d think that, too.” Maggie agreed. “You said you heard someone talking about stopping someone.”
Cam sucked in through her teeth as she thought about it and ran her hand through her hair.
“The ones I heard were talking in Spanish. Brazilians speak Portuguese. It could be just a coincidence but I can check to see what’s out on the street. Did Dickie know anything about it?”
Maggie shook her head. “They said it wasn’t drug-related so it never went past him. He didn’t even know about it until I read it to him today.”
“Okay. I’ll see what I can find out about it. It could just be our imagination or just a guy who was in the wrong place at the wrong time. I’ll check. Can I take this newspaper?” On Maggie’s nod, she tore the item out of the paper and placed it in her wallet.8
