Chapter 17: Fire & Ice

Lauren popped out from behind the curtain to show off her silver, sequin dress that glistened like the chandelier hanging above our heads. We were getting ready for the ball together in the dressing room in Lauren's suite.

'Ta-daa! What do you think?'

'Wow, Lauren. You're bringing the blizzard straight into the ball with that dress', I complimented her. She really did look like a treat.

'Really? You think so?'

'I'm telling you; I'm going to be forced into awkward conversations about you', I told her. She laughed wholeheartedly.

'Come on. Let's see what you have picked out for the ball. Although, if you showed up with your underwear, it wouldn't be the worst thing', she teased. She was being unexpectedly flirty with me today, considering that I chased after her crush last night.
