The Three Fates
"Rub...!" The voice screamed out as I was moving quickly away from it.
Blinking I tried to open my eyes only to see blurs of what was happening. Like an iron curtain my eyes forced themselves shut despite me wanting to see who's voice that was.
"Stop! Gi.. ..er .. Back!"
Blinking my eyes ferociously to open again I saw the moving of buildings as I was being jostled. Looking with much more difficulty I saw 2 other robots fighting my team and Lena standing in front of me. With whatever determination I had left I hardened my eyes and desperately raised my hand.
Trying my best to reach out I raised my hand to them as I felt my eyes become heavy again as I slowly blacked out.
Whimpering a muted "No..." as I felt my eyes droop down and cover my vision once more. Eyelids blocking my sight, I was slowly lulled into a forced sleep.
======*Lena's POV*======
"Ruby!" I shouted out as I watched the strange looking robot punch her in the face. Trying to help her I quickly began to open fire on it's back.
The robot that was attacking Ruby looked similar to a basic Null Sector Unit but instead was bigger, taller, and just looked much more streamlined. Legs and feet designed to give it extreme speed, a giant gun on it's shoulder, and fists that could easily punch a hole through a wall.
"Lena! Behind you!" Quickly looking behind myself I saw a second robot running towards me, but this one much skinnier and faster. Instead of guns, this bot had massive hard light purple energy swords on its arm, while having a smaller hard light dagger in its hands while a wire was attached to a the bottom of the blade.
Bringing my attention away from Ruby for a second I began to weave away and shoot at the skinny robot that was quickly approaching me with speeds similar to that of a cheetah.
"I need help over here!" I shouted out to anyone who could help me get this assassin robot off of me.
"On it!" I heard Torbjorn shout as he began to fire molten bullets at it, only for the bot to flip it's black eyes towards him and run at him.
Looking at Ruby, I watched as the robot picked her up and put her on it's shoulder. 'Damnet!' I shouted in my head as I ran to help Torbjorn.
"Stop! Give her back!" Mercy shouted as she watched Ruby get kidnapped, sadly being able to do nothing.
Gritting my teeth I began to open fire on the assassin like robot only to see Reinhardt being pushed backwards by an equally big robot. 'What is this the three bears?!' I thought angrily as I watched the massive bot push Reinhardt back.
The bot was well... Big. Slightly towering over Reinhardt with a weirdly shaped head it was holding a spear like weapon as a shielded arm blocked Reinhardt from attacking.
Attacking with massive swings of it's spears Reinhardt did his best to block it with his equally big hammer. Using the thruster on his hammer to push back the spear occasionally, he made it look like an epic duel.
Reinhardt deciding to just ignore the spear and shield all together, grabbed the shield on it's arm. Reinhardt activated his engines on his back and shouted. "HAH! Eat this!"
Jet thrusters sounded out as Reinhardt began gaining ground on the oversized piece of construction equipment, and slowly pushed it back. "Rein! Finish that one off quick!" I shouted out to him.
Seeing him nod in understanding I refocused on the assassin like robot. Reloading my gun quickly I began to shoot at it as it focused on Torbjorn, doing minimal damage. The bot in response did a flip backwards and flew into the air above me.
It's glowing swords seemed to brighten up even more as the assassin bot started falling down right on top of me. Recalling as fast as I could I stare in disbelief as I watched the swords on the robot fall into the ground with 0 difficulty.
Gritting my teeth I looked back to see Ruby being dragged away on it's shoulder with extreme haste. "Damn! They are going to take Ruby!" I yelled to the team as the bot that attacked Ruby ran past me.
The bot ran past me and moved with coded movement as a gun strapped to it's shoulder began to shoot us. Frowning I dodged past a incoming purple energy blast and chased after it.
"Oh no you don't!" I shouted as I began to shoot at it's back only to stop when it lifted Ruby up as a shield. Being jostled around Ruby weakly opened her eyes and saw me. With difficulty she raised her bleeding hand to me as I began to scowl even more.
Frowning in dismay all I could do was watch as Ruby was dragged away. 'Fine then!' I thought as I turned my whole focus onto the Assassin droid. With new vigor I began to attack it while Torbjorn constantly shot at it, causing it to have difficulty to dodge.
Successfully landing a few shots on it's arm while it was focusing Torb, I watched as one of it's blades fad out of existence. "Yes!" I cheered out only to watch the bot stop moving. Looking at it in surprise I began to attack it.
Suddenly the assassin like robot jumped backwards again over all of my shots but instead of attacking me it launched its sword into a nearby building. The bot then used the wire that was attached to it's sword to pull itself away from the fight with speeds I could barely keep up with.
Trying my best to chase after the escaping assassin droid I was stopped by Torbjorn. "Lena don't chase it! Focus on the one fighting Reinhardt!" Torbjorn shouted in his sweedish accent.
Scowling I gave him a thumbs up as the whole team converged on the over sized hunking piece of metal. Doing what ever damage we could I watched as it powered through and tried to escape while shielding itself with its massive metal arm.
Reaching behind my back I took out my last detonator and threw it on its back. "Big boom incoming!" I yelled to the team as Reinhardt raised his broken shield to help us.
Almost in slow motion I watched as the timer ticked down as the oversized bot tried reaching behind it's back, yet to no avail. Grinning as I saw the timer hit green I was soon hit with heat from the blast.
*Boom!* The explosion echoed out as a wave of heat rushed over us. Smoke quickly filled the clearing and covered up the bot. Smiling slightly at our victory I remembered that we still lost Ruby. Just as quickly the smile vanished and a now large scowl filled out my face as I waited for the smoke to clear.
After about 30 seconds, most of the smoke and dust cleared out and we could now make out a silhouette of the bot. Waiting a couple more seconds I stood in shock as I saw the bot with extreme difficulty trying to limp away.
The back of the bot was completely destroyed, and the tube like head of the bot was barely hanging on by a couple of wires. Seeing almost completely through the bot due to the hole in it's back I stared in shock.
"How... Is it still moving?" I questioned as I watch the massive robot try to limp away with it's broken body. "It doesn't matter, it wont for long." Mercy calmly announced as she pulled out her pistol and shot at it's dangling head.
Sparks flew as the bot seemed to malfunction even more. Immediately stopping it began to twitch violently as it short circuited and fell over.
*Thump.* The whole ground shook as it landed on the ground. Waiting for nothing I began to ferociously shake my hands and explain that we need to go after Ruby.
"Look! That one average looking one that punched Ruby kidnapped her! We have to save her!"
Reinhardt's gaze hardened as he nodded but then said "As the leader I promise we will save her, but our mission comes first. We will attack the factory now, as that is almost most certainly where they took her."
Taking a second he scratched his none existent beard and then said "If I am right they probably took her because of her powers. If so we must move as quickly as we can because if we don't by the time we get there she might have already been moved."
The whole team nodded as we gained our bearings and put the bomb into overdrive. Staying towards the back of the group a tear fell down from my eye and down my cheek. 'How could I let that happen? She even reached out for me, but I stopped...'
Being pulled from my thoughts I felt a hand on my shoulder. Looking over it was a grimacing Mercy. "Don't worry Lena, we will get Ruby back." She simply said to try and comfort me.
Getting angry I snapped. "What do you mean don't worry!? The three musketeers just up and stole her after planting her head into the ground!"
Reinhardt and Torbjorn looked towards me and my outburst but chose to look away. Mercy had a a difficult look on her face as she formulated her thoughts. The look then changed into one of surprise and understanding on her face.
"I understand how you feel Lena, but you don't need to get mad. We are all worried, especially me. The way she looked after that attack certainly wasn't good, but all we can do right now is be calm and push on." Mercy calmly explained to me while still holding my shoulder.
Calming down slightly I looked away in guilt at snapping at someone who just tried to help me. "Your right... I shouldn't have snapped. I am just... worried about her. I just never saw her look so desperate and beaten before."
"Ah, that wasn't a look of a beaten person Lena." Reinhardt sighed out and continued. "That was a face of a survivor, sure she was desperate, but I saw that glint in her eyes. She will make it out of this." Reinhardt assured me.
Sighing out as well I nodded in agreement to him but chose to stay quiet. 'I hope she will...' was all I thought as we continued our march onwards towards the factory.
After a couple of minutes of passing by destroyed buildings and cars alike we stood in front of the factory door. "Well, let's do this as quickly as we can. Once those doors are down we will use one of Torbjorn's drones to scout the inside of the build." Reinhardt announced to the team.
Torbjorn nodded and motioned for everyone to be on guard but to step away from the bomb. Clicking a few buttons here and there, Torbjorn seemed to bring life to the bomb.
"Alright bomb is active! Let's get to that ally, now!" Torbjorn shouted as everyone complied and hid in the ally. Reinhardt took the front as he raised his shield while waiting for the bomb to go off.
Suddenly the thrusters on the bomb roared to life in a magnificent blue flame, as the bomb itself began to glow and blink. Everyone scooted backwards a little at the sight as we watched the bomb propel itself forward like a missile.
*Boom!* An explosion rung out and shook everything. Trying to push my way out to see it Reinhardt stopped me with his hand and pushed me back. "Alright let's scout it out now! Torbjorn get out that little flying thingy you've been working on."
"Yeah, yeah. Already on it. And it's called the T3DPD, or Torbjorn 3D Projecting Drone! Not a little flying thing!" Torbjorn shouted as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a holoprojector and a small golf ball sized drone.
"Alrighty, let's see what we are dealing with." Torbjorn muttered to himself as he threw the drone up. Staring expectantly at it I watched as it fell back down but began to hover. Almost like a bullet I moved left to right with speeds that made it blur.
Looking back towards Torbjorn I watched as he moved it with a small controller as whatever it saw was projected onto a 3D holomap. Suddenly the view changed as the drone zoomed off into the smoking remains of the factories doors.
'That's awesome!' I thought as I fangirled slightly over all of the prospects of having a spy drone. My thoughts led me to some places that even I didn't think they would go to as I began to think about spying on Ruby or others.
Shaking my head I clapped my cheeks and thought 'Nope, nope! Gotta save her first love! Then it will be like saving a damsel in distress!' I smiled slightly but was dragged out of my inner world by Torbjorn.
"Yeah... That's not good..." Torbjorn muttered out as we all focused more on the map that was now displaying something I couldn't see too well. Deciding to move closer I squeezed past Mercy and stood behind Torbjorn.
"What's not good?" I asked Torbjorn as I moved behind him to look at the map. Torbjorn simply responded by pointing at it.
'Why is it all red... Oh no it's all red!' My eyes opened widely as I could only mutter "Yeah that's to say the least... We have our work cut out for us."

Authors Note time!
Sorry about later chapter update folks. I said I would get them out more normally but it seemed fate chose something different for me and gave me covid for like a week. Luckily I'm feeling perfectly fine now and got this chapter out.
I hope most of you enjoyed it in Lena's POV for this chapter. Next chapter will be trying to save good old mixed personality Ruby.
On a new point, I wanted to say I have this series almost completely planned out on what I want to do, but I have lost some interest in writing it, so chapters will still be slow. I possibly planned on writing a new FF for RWBY or maybe even Overlord, but idk yet. For now I might just stick to this one until I get out of the Overwatch world for a short while.
