No One is Going Anywhere

"I think that we all do. Right, guys?" Bruce attempted to answer for everyone, and Michael paid close attention to whoever hesitated. Or at least, showed some reluctant.

Aside from Bruce, everyone did to an extent. Lance seemed to hesitate the most. Mostly likely because there was nothing back on Earth waiting for him. Or maybe there was, and he just did not want to go back to it.

Michael nodded. "I still like to hear form each one of you, however. Do you not like our world? Please do not let the undead scourge affects your judgement. It is once in a lifetime thing, and it is the reason that you were all summoned."

Everyone looked at each other.

Bruce decided to speak up once more. "I wouldn't mind staying, but I have someone I needed to take care of. My little sister. She is… shit. I hope that she's okay. How long have we been gone now?"

"About a couple of months, I think," Lance answered after a quick mental calculation. "I actually don't want to return back to Earth."

Anna eyed Lance before pursing her lips. She obviously liked Lance in the time that they had gotten to know each other. She was fairly reluctant to return to Earth without him.

"I think my parents are worried sick about me," Anna said. It was a lie, as she had everything that she ever wanted back on Earth. A dotting parents. Plenty of friends. Popularity at school. And much more.

"I don't have any reason. I just don't like being told what to do," Jake voiced his opinion. He simply did not like being forced into doing anything regardless of whether he liked it or not, and since there was no way out of it, he just went along with it with the rest of the gang.

Michael turned his attention to Emma, who had already told him the reason why she wanted to return back to Earth. Not in so many words, but from the way she had described her life back home, Michael did not need her to actually say it out loud.

"I understand, and I will not change your mind. While I cannot return you to Earth currently, I do have a little bit of power and authority within this dimension," Michael stated and quickly changed the topic before anyone raised a question. "I notice that you, Lance, is trying to dig up some sort of water ways for irrigation. Are you playing to stay here long?"

Lance scratched the back of his head. "Not really. Planning for the future. Just in incase. Probably there is no need to anymore."

"No. You should continue. It will occupy your mind and time, and I do not know when if ever I can take you home," Michael pointed out and before any of the teenagers speak up, he continued. "Yes, yes, I know. I know, but I will try my best to return you back to where you belong."

None could argue with that. It wasn't like they could force anything out of Michael, and Michael really couldn't return to Earth without completing the objective tasked to him by the Spellcaster Source.

"I also notice from the sky that Jake and Bruce were wandering about," Michael added and eyed Jake and Bruce.

"Yeah. Just checking out the area. By the way, where are the other animals?" Bruce questioned. "And how big is this place anyway?"

Michael took a moment before answering. "I do not know. Are you assuming that I know everything?"

"Ah. Sorry," Bruce apologized sheepishly. "Would be cool if you do though. You did say that you have a bit of power and authority here."

Michael did not response to that.

"Is there a way to craft items? I mean like in a game. This is kind of like a game, right?" Jake asked the only thing that mattered to him. He did not care about anything else other than his own survival. If he could, he would have left the others already.

Michael was actually getting to that since he had heard Jake brought it up previously. The only reason for Michael to do so was to see what these five teenagers could come up with their imagination.

Just like the magic system Michael had activated, the crafting system had been expanded upon greatly by the Framework. This was done automatically to every system available. Therefore, crafting was no longer restricted to the internal logic and confine of a game with limited models and resources.

Anything can be crafted, as long as a person can imagine it. If there was any restriction, it was that the crafter cannot use the crafting system to alter the fabric of reality.

Crafting required materials, and a crafter would need to collect those materials. To create something that could end the entire world, the amount of materials required would take anyone their entire life.

No. It should not be achievable within their lifetime.

Furthermore, Michael could restrict what could be crafted via the command console. As such, crafting an Atomic Bomb was clearly out of the question. Same with a spaceship. In fact, anything that required some form of electronics was out since it could potential open a door to a lot of problems.

"Yes," Michael answered Jake. "Shall I show you?"

It was a rhetorical question, and Michael proceeded to summon a wooden bench through his magic.

The sudden appearance of the table caused the others to step back. They had all witness magic in one form or another from the moment they were summoned to fight against the demons, but they could not use any magic within this world. They had tried and tried and tried.

"In case you are wondering, your magics and powers are bestowed upon by the Gods and Goddesses of our world. Unfortunately, their reach does not extend to here. My magic, however, is a bit different than yours, so I can still use it here. Think of it operating on a different principle."

What Michael had stated was not far from the truth. Magic could be utilized by everyone in the world because someone had deemed it so. That person was not a God or any kind of gods. It was the Source of all Mana – an Origin.

Michael knew this from the knowledge he gained when he woke up as a skeleton.

The magic within his world did not belong to Origin, however. It belonged to his Domain. If he wished to utilize his magic outside his world, hence outside his Domain, he would need to get the permission from Origin.

Contacting Origin was impossible with his current power, so the next best thing would be just drawling powers from the Spellcaster Source, as long as the Source allowed it. That was why Michael was trying to complete his objective and unlocking the spellcaster class.

"It might not be obvious but crafting within this place requires some sort of medium. This table here will allow you to craft handmade items, such as wooden tools," Michael explained. "Come closer and tell me what happen."

All five teenagers approach the table, and only Jake could see a new interface. Even though Jake didn't speak up, Michael eyed him.

"Only Jake can craft because he has the necessary materials within his inventory," Michael explained, and he requested Jake create a simple wooden spear. It was as easy as clicking a button.

A wooden spear was crafted and placed directly into Jake's inventory, allowing him to take it out and show it to the others.

"Ah. So, the crafting interface only appears if we can actually craft something with the stuff inside our inventory?" Bruce stated the obvious. He did not mention that he needed to stand next to the crafting table to do so.

Michael nodded. "More or less. There are also other requirements as well, such as the weight required within your inventory. While I can explain you the finer details of crafting, I am sure you are all smart enough to figure it out yourself. I must be going now. Reporting back to his Greatness."

Michael said a few more things before taking flight and disappearing into the distance, leaving those teenagers to their own devices. If he sped time up within this area, he would get instant result, but he was not in a hurry.

They weren't going anywhere anytime soon.

I hope that you enjoy the chapter.
