Chapter 36

Walking into the room, they are greeted by a large guy, "This is the Heavenly Path of Ascension training course. This training course is designed to take at bare minimum 2 years. One is able to complete this training course at a faster rate.

"One must also have a certain level of physical training. One must not have already pass the training course. One must have started to be able to use magic, whether through mana or miasma. Lastly, this training course is designed to be a stepping stone to harder and more difficult training regimes.

"With all this being said, are you sure you want to start the training regimine? Warning once you start this training regime, you must complete before taking any other training regimes we have. If you quite at any point while taking this training regime, you may not have another attempt. The longest completion time was 4 years."

Looking at the man Amber nods in acknowledgement and walks forward. Looking behind her, "Beir whether or not you decide to join the training course that is here is all up to you. But I will be joining it. I have been wanting to join it for a while now. I have seen the results it produces. I will also be trying to break the records that are within this training course."

"If this is supposed to last two years, how are we going to stay here for two years then?" Beir asks.

"Time flow shenanigans, I have no idea how it works. But the timeflow is two years per day," the man says.

Before she enters, "Can I send a message to my home?"

"Yes, you may. I will have someone deliver it," nodding at his words, she starts to write down a message. Handing it to him she steps in to the door, while Beir looks on and contemplates whether he should go or not.

Inside the area Amber sees a large cliff face. At the cliff face, she sees a desk. "Welcome to the Heavenly Path of Ascension program. Now in front of you are several paths. Choose which path you will go down."

Looking forward at the different doors she sees words above them. From left to right they read; Easy, Medium, Hard, Insane, King, Emperor. Looking at this she thinks, 'why does it seem like there should be more paths to choose from. This can't be all of them. Perhaps I am just unable to see them. The path I choose will be recorded most likely. I can't just choose the easier difficulties.'

At the end of her thought Beir enters, and the person at the desk says the same thing. Looking at Amber he shakes his head. He walks straight into the Emperor door. Looking at him go, she tries to infuse mana into her eyes, in order to see if there is anything more.

Not seeing much she goes to feel the mana around her. using this mana she starts to reveal a new door right next to Emperor. Nodding her head, 'there is also miasma, maybe I should go form a core with said miasma. Will make it easier to sense the miasma anyway. The mana here is denser then outside anyway. So it shouldn't take all to long to be able to form a miasma core, sense mana and miasma are usually equal in concentration. The only spot they weren't was in the hall. But mana was artificially increased as to not confuse us as new magic users.'

Sitting down she goes to start to absorb the miasma around her. After a few minutes she manages to form the miasma core. Spending some time she forms several miasma cores with in herself. Viewing both the mana and miasma at the same time, she notices a door right next to easy that reads as follows, "The true Heavenly Path of Ascension route."

As she enters the door, the person at the desk makes a call. Appearing in front of the desk a tall man slamming his fist down, "I told you not to bother me unless someone went through that door."

"Sir when was the last time I called you here? Anyway someone did go through that door. Just now in fact," the person sighs.

"Interesting what did they look like?"

"Wears red clothes and has orange hair back in a ponytail."

"There is only one person that matches those descriptions. So Amber has come to take a part in these training programs. To think she would notice that there would be difficulties beyond emperor."

Within the tunnel Amber has come across a small boulder. The sign next to it says, "To climb this hill you must push this boulder up the hill."

She starts to push the boulder up the hill. Having a hard time just getting it to move. 'This is a heavy boulder. I wonder how much does it actually weighs. I could use mana. But my physical strength wont improve if I do so.'

After an hour of nonstop pushing, she manages to reach half way up the hill. At that point arrows start to fly towards her. Keeping on hand on the boulder she uses her other hand to knock the arrows back.

After a few minutes she realizes that the arrows don't stop firing. Shaking her head, she goes to raise mana barriers up. She continues to push the boulder up the hill very slowly. After a while the arrows manage to go through the mana barriers.

'I might have to put up miasma barriers as well. It is already mentally taxing keeping up three mana barriers as I am pushing this boulder up the hill. But I should at least try to do so.'

Finishing her thought she struggles to put up miasma barriers without having the mana barriers falter. After holding the boulder still for several hours she finally manages to get both miasma and mana barriers to stay up at the same time.

Barely moving one step forward a minute she eventually reaches the top of the hill. As she does so she lets the barriers go, and falls down on the ground. As her head hits the ground she falls asleep.
