Summoning the last of his strength, Kia lunged for his gun. He grabbed it, turned around, and aimed directly at the zombie's forehead. His hand steadied as he took a deep breath. This he couldn't afford to miss.

"Die, you bastard," he muttered through gritted teeth and pulled the trigger.

The bullet tore through the zombie's skull, and the creature dropped like a puppet with its strings cut, finally lifeless.
