Mother nature

" We will be late to class if you don't run any faster" Yoorim yelled at Ji-soo who was about six feets away from Yoorim running and panting heavily.

"I am running as fast as I can" Ji-soo replied.

Yoorim was obviously not satisfied with Ji-soo's pace as she ran back and grabbed Ji-soo's hand.

She continued running pulling Ji-soo behind her until they both arrived the hall.

They were lucky to still find an empty space where they could sit side by side, they waited a little more for other students to come in.

"Woah Yoorim this is the earliest I've ever been to any class since I came to Deungdae" Ji-soo revealed laughing.

" You can be rest assured that you will be going early to classes now that I am your room mate" Yoorim sneered.

" Oooh we will see how long you hold out" Ji-soo retorted teasingly and they both laughed harder.

"Hope you have all been studying?" A tall, slim man who had his face all covered up asked calmly as he slowly walked into the hall with both hands folded to the back.

His walking steps were swift and elegant. He sat in front of the class, took out his hand fan and covered his face.

Master Daejung was Deungdae's literary teacher.

It was said that no one except the rulers had ever seen his face, many theories as to why he always had his face covered went around from time to time but Master Daejung was infact still one of the most knowledgeable guardian in Sai.

He was said to hold so much knowledge that he was also very respected by the rulers and supreme ruler.

 "Yes master" The hall echoed.

"The blessings of mother nature" Can someone clearly elaborate on this phrase Daejung asked.

The hall fell silent, Daejung resumed fanning himself awaiting an answer, finally a hand went up.

 " Yes Eun Cheol".

A boy who sat in front rose to answer the question.

One astonishing thing about master Daejung was his ability to remember the names of almost every student in Deungdae.

"The blessings of mother nature, the pharse describes nature as a mother that has birth us all" Eun Cheol voiced and sat back down.

" Hmmn, any other person" Daejung asked not sparing them a glance. He bent his head and scribbled on a paper before him with his brush.

The hall became quiet again and nobody attempted to answer.

 Finally another hand went up.

"Yes Ji-soo"

" Errm... I'm... I'm not quite sure..." Ji-soo stuttered.

"If you are not sure, you should have your seat" Daejung interjected harshly.

" Compose yourself and answer the question, boldness is the key to a right answer" Daejung added.

Ji-soo felt her cheeks burn with embarrassment, she wanted to sit down but Yoorim cheered her on.

" Continue, you can do it" Yoorim whispered and smiled at her.

This encouraged Ji-soo and made her attempt to answer the question again this time more confidently.

" The phrase the blessings of mother nature depicts nature as a mother like figure that binds everything that has life in it that is plants, animals and human beings. We guardians are not included because we do not have life we just exist because the Almighty wants us to and because we are supernatural"

Daejung stopped scribbling and looked directly at Ji-soo then returned back to his scribbling.

" Does anyone else have a different opinion" His deep cold voice resonated I their ears.

No one moved or even uttered a word, the silence was almost deafening until Daejung broke the silence.

" Everyone write a full page explaining the blessings of mother nature" he instructed and this was followed by loud rustling of papers and clanking of brushes.

Once the students were done writing, they all began exiting the hall one after the other.

" Well done Ji-soo" Daejung complimented when Ji-soo passed by him on her way to the door.

" Thank you master"
