"Kai, look at me." Lord Bellaire ordered.
Kai turned back and obeyed the instructions.
"Good boy." He whispered, reaching down the boy's leg and cuffing his leg. He caressed him and invited the boy onto the bed.
Almost like a robot, Kai followed the instructions, he wrapped his arms around Lord Bellaire and looked at the mirror stationed behind the bed. His eyes glowed with anger as his nails etched deep into his own. 'I'll definitely kill you.'
A snake wrapping around its prey, waiting for a moment of weakness. No matter how large the prey, it'll swallow it whole.
Kai closed his eyes and allowed the act to carry on like usual, his face maintaining a sweet smile while he obediently fulfilled the Lord's desires.
When the night ended, it was time for Lord Bellaire to set off for work. He double checked the chains like usual before giving the boy a peck on the hands and leaving silently. Locking the door.
When the door shut, Kai grabbed a napkin off the counter and continuously rubbed his hand. Even when the saliva was gone, he continued and stopped only when he could see his skin peeling. He saw a shadow looming over him from the corner of his eye.
It's figure was small, with a tail swaying back and forth. It stood on the thin panel where the single window pane stood high up on the walls.
"A cat?" Kai looked up and what he saw did indeed confirm his suspicions. A black cat looked down at him with it's pearly blue eyes. It's mouth opened and a meow was heard.
"A kid?" The cat said, surprised. "What's your name?"
Kai sat there, baffled. He must have gone crazy from being confined for too long. Was he that lonely to be hallucinating about a talking cat? And the sound of the cat was even speaking in his head.
"Hello? Kid? Are you brainless?" The cat snapped, it's face scrunching up.
"Kai." He replied instantly. If this is how he could cope with boredom, he didn't mind.
"You need help in there?" The cat asked, sounding like it was going to offer help..somehow?
Kai smiled and looked into the cat's eyes. "If I said yes, would you be able to provide the assistance I need?"
"Of course. I'm not a normal cat you know? That explains why I'm speaking to you through your mind." The cat wittily replied. "I'll grant you three wishes. So use them carefully. It could be used for revenge..or you can simply use 1 to get out of here." the cat hinted. "But there's a limit to them."
"A genie?" Kai wondered. He looked up on the ceiling. "A bundle of lilies." he requested.
"What?!" The cat spat out. That felt like the most dubious request! It mentally groaned and granted the boy's wish.
A basket of lilies appeared out of thin air and landed before Kai's feet. He reached out and gently picked up the flowers in his hands. It smelled exactly as he remembered it.
"A sword..a dagger. Either will do." Kai said plainly while he admired the white flowers.
A shiny grey blade with a black handle appeared in the basket. It was small yet looked deadly enough to kill. A shortsword. It seemed like the cat had some common sense.
Kai grabbed the sword and looked at his reflection. He smiled and moved the blade around gracefully. It felt the same as he remembered, the slice, the slash, everything.
The cat carefully watched the curious boy playing with the sword. It seemed ominous for some reason. The intent creeping up to the tip of the blade.
"Last wish?" It quickly asked.
"You'll have to wait till I finish my task tonight. I want to get teleported out of here." Kai said, wondering if the cat could get back up here and down safely.
"Then, I'll see you." The cat coldly replied, jumping off the fourth floor with ease. It faded into the air. 'Seems like I caught something else to take back home. I wonder if that old woman is wondering where I am?'
It had travelled quite far, across many lands. It was hoping to find something to bring back home as a gift for it's master like usual. The items were normally not living things though.
There was something else that the cat was thinking deeply about. Why flowers? If you're in such a tough spot, who in their right mind would ask for lilies?
Back at the Whitlock estate, Huxley was ready to leave. He had to take advantage of the time when Victoria was off on some important business that would at least take a few days to resolve. He had to find Kai and bring him somewhere safe in the meantime. He had already prepared a building in the south for his child.
Would Kai still remember him even after 6 years? He probably would..right? He was glad to find out his son was still alive. Victoria's right hand woman, Begonia had revealed this information out of pity and dread. To confirm his location, he threatened and baited Janice to see his son for herself.
It took 1 year, but it was fine. This time was nothing compared to the 6 years he lost. He had to confirm it in order to actually take action against Bellaire. If he didn't have any evidence his son was there, waging war would be a very impulsive decision. But it was all confirmed the moment he received the clue from Janice.
He hoped his son would've also recognised the small insignia on Janice's bracelet. It was tiny and only a very little group of people knew about it. If his son saw it, it meant that help was coming soon.
"So, just hold on a little longer. Father will come save you soon." Huxley whispered while grasping tightly onto his necklace. He lifted his face to see the adequate amount of horses in front of him with his soldiers ready. All they were missing was a leader.
Huxley got on his horse and grabbed onto the reins. "Head for the Bellaire estate. We will only stop for a break once we reach Bristol." It was a ridiculous command to travel for that long but it wasn't something his soldiers couldn't do.
All the horses charge on at full speed.
