As an innocent child, Kai had always wanted to get ahold of his mother's love and affection. He trained, he studied and played his part. Instead of getting the treatment he yearned for, Kai was sold off to a Lord who was known for his promiscuity.  Kai Whitlock became an empty shell that wanted nothing more than revenge for his suffering. And there came the day where he was released from the grasp of the evil Lord.  Flowers were littered around the room, they emitted a scent of newly spilled blood. The night has never shined so brightly as it did that day. The moonlight shone upon Kai, blessing him with it's embrace. Kai wanted strength to devour the world whole.

A Definite Goal

A boy with flushed pink cheeks and sweat dripping down his forehead stood in the middle of the bridge between dawn.

His hands were peeled and scabbed. And the wooden sword he held in his hand was dull. But he never stopped swinging at the rock boulder.

His eyes brimming with determination. While a rain of water dripped down his face.

The boy's arm lost control of his wooden sword and the weapon snapped and flew backwards. His hands were now empty.

He cried and fell onto his knees. Before looking up and smiling, giggling before holding back tears again. He pulled back his hand and landed a punch on the rock boulder with his bare fists.

Blood was left behind as a mark for his success. He did it again and again, he punched and chipped away at the boulder.

The skin on his fist was bruised and the bones were being shattered. Leaving behind a blood red layer and white bones sticking out from his fists.

"I'll do it. I have to win! I won't lose. No. I can't lose. I will win." The boy whispered under his breath. Making sure he knew what he desired.

Kai watched the boy with compartimalized attention. What kind of cruel joke was this?

All his dreams were made of nightmares. Nightmares of the past. It made his skin itch and hair stand in disgust. While his fist tingled with a familiar sensation.

Kai sighed and sat down in the middle of the field. It stretched out far. One side consisted of the night where the small boy trained eagerly in hopes for a breakthrough.

While another side was a familiar scene that often repeated itself. An underground dungeon that was dripping with water.

Children screaming and begging for help, attempting to break free and pull themselves away from the control of the knights and magicians.

Instead of cells filled with instruments of torture, it now was filled with multiple bottles of potions and long tubes that connected in an array of directions.

The liquid in the bottles was fizzing and bubbling.

The smell of chemicals waft across the whole chamber. A smell that could make your eyes tear up.

"I have given you 10 days, and this is the progress you make? I gave you more than enough slaves for your little experiments. Was that not enough?" A loud and cocktail voice boomed, fixing his tie that was obviously too small for his neck.

"I'm sorry my lord! My team is having some.. difficulties. Please give us more time!" The magicians were all on their knees, hands rubbing together pleading for mercy.

"And how long would you take, exactly?" Lord Bellaire's voice gets louder with each syllable.

"We'll finish it now! In..4 hours!" The magicians exclaimed, his eyes hopeful.

The one beside him nudged and shook his head violently.

Another clicked his tongue. "3 hours. I'll do it in 3. Rest assured." He stated in the most calmest tone for someone who was on the verge of death. His eyes never left the timid boy who sat still as he could on the chair.

"I like your diligence. You'll do well for me right?" Lord Bellaire patted the shoulder of the magician and smiled in satisfaction before getting back to the boy.

Kai watched the scene unfold, his eyes twitching. But he didn't waste time blinking. He had to etch this memory into his mind. For what he had done to those innocent children.

There was more than he could count and name out. And he hated himself for not remembering all their names. They were all nice to him. Bizarrely too innocent.

They deserve none of this pain. Treated as if they were only a host of a body with no such things as emotions.

They were being injected with the most foul and illegal drugs and liquids. The ingredients spent on all of the injections probably have passed over 100 gold.

Why was so much funds and resources being used on such children?

After they were injected, a waiting time would be proposed and carried out. During that time period, children shouted in pain and horror as their internal organs exploded and tangled itself.

The injection was just the start. After the long wait and internal torture was over.

Knights entered the cells as they pulled out their swords that shone with pride. With no hesitation, they brandished their swords against the innocent children who were chained to a chair of their own.

All the yelling and kicking around, some even knocked the chair over and crawled and hopped with their scraped knees, hoping for an unlikely escape.

Screams pierced and echoed through the chambers along with the sound of bubbles. But none of that bothered the two who were watching the madness around them.

"This is all for you, Kai! Once we find a good potion I'll feed it to you. You have to drink it, alright? And live long. You can't die just yet, alright?" Lord Bellaire spoke in a kind tone but his eyes said something different. His eyebrows raised as his brown irises sparkled with anger as it glanced at all the marks the boy had done onto himself.

The wrist of the boy was bandaged thickly and tied tightly to prevent from slipping out or any incident touching the injury.

The neck of the boy was bandaged and covered with a thick black collar that seemed to have no openings.

"Whatever you do, I shall forgive. But you leaving me, is something I shall never condone." Lord Bellaire murmured as he gently held onto the small thin hands and placed it on his face. A cold touch enveloping his skin.

"I won't do it again! Please! I'm at fault! Let them go! Please please pleas-"

Slap! It landed across the boy's face, leaving a deep red handprint.

"That's what you always say. You do it again and again and again. If you won't listen.." Lord Bellaire glanced at the cells as he made eye contact with a slave. "I'll just make a foolproof plan and remove any distractions and liabilities that can influence you."

Kai coughed and his whole body lurched forward, vomiting out all the liquid and food he was forced to digest. He started to cry and felt a strong urge to do something that was out of character for him.

But he met eyes with the servant that used to serve him. Ian. If Kai were to act up now, would it hurt his friend more?

Afterall, the actions and decisions of Kai had now led to all these bunch of people getting tested on and killed off as if they were insects with no value.

"I'm sorry. I won't do it again." Kai said, his eyes getting red as he felt a hand gently grab at his shoulders and rubbed his back in an attempt to relieve his pain.

"Too late. You're too slow. You should've listened before."

Kai cried. He shouldn't have done it before! He should've listened properly. He shouldn't have harmed himself. He shouldn't have tried to escape. He shouldn't have made friends. He shouldn't think about leaving. He shouldn't think of anyone else. He should've wanted to live.

Despite all these circumstances?

Without realizing, the viewer watching the scene in front of him started tearing up. He felt as if he hadn't changed one bit.

He scraped his palms with his nails and felt the coarse skin on his fingertips. He vowed and swore that he'll definitely fulfil his goal even if it risked his life. He couldn't be any happier than that.

He'll put an end to Victoria's reign. There was no doubt about that in his mind.
