Reverberations from the past.

"What do you see when you look at me?" Vanessa asked, as she stared tearily at Raymond. "Broken? Hurt? Mad? Dangerous?" "Vanessa. That's all I see. I see you, Vanessa" Raymond replied shortly, as he bent on his knees to caress her cheeks. "A vulnerable Vanessa?" she asked "No. I see Vanessa, a woman struggling to make things right" he replied honestly. "I'm sorry I dragged you into this. I'm so sorry" she said almost in a whisper, but he heard her due to their close proximity. "You didn't do anything wrong. I should be apologizing instead. Vanessa, I..." "Stop, Raymond! Just don't. I can't even look you in the eyes" she said as she looked down. "You lost almost everything because of me. I'd understand if you blame me. But please don't apologize to me" she said as she wept uncontrollably. Raymond pulled her into his arms, kissed her forehead and hugged her tightly. "I'd never blame you, Vanessa. Never" "Raymond, can we start all over again when all these end?" "No..." ***** Aida grew up in a lovely home, with mother out of the picture. Chapter 33 Anything else?

Arnold parked the car in the underground driveway at the Brown Wilson's mansion.

"Wait, was that a ploy to send us home?" Ciara didn't hesitate to ask.

"I don't think so. If you want my honest opinion, this place is undoubtedly the safest place for you at the moment" Arnold replied seriously.

"You're a good schemer, Arnold. Your plan was to bring us back all this while. Anyway, tha..." Ciara said.

"I don't know the people you have been dealing with, your entire life. They must have hurt you really bad, to have that much trust issue. At least, get it through your thick skull, I am a man of my words. You think I am that idle to just plan any nonsense just to bring you to your house? I don't have time for games, so i play none" Arnold interrupted Ciara.

"Thank you, Colonel. We are grateful. We've got to go. Are you coming with us?" Cindy chipped in before Ciara could reply.

"Yes, i am coming with you. I have to remain here with you until Raymond arrives with Mary." Arnold replied.

"Mary?" the twins asked chorally.

"Yes" Arnold replied as he moved out of the car.

"Arnold, how dire is the situation?" Cindy asked as they walked closely behind Arnold.

"Let's settle first" Arnold said as he took long strides towards the parlour.

The twins seemed surprised, when they realized the entire house was heavily guarded.

Arnold unlocked the door to the parlour and gestured to them to enter. Without a word, they both entered the parlour. At this moment, they knew whatever was coming for them was very strong and the situation was beyond serious. Arnold closed the door gently behind him, and turned to look at the twins.

"Cindy, is there anything you'd want me to know?" Arnold asked, looking solely at Cindy. Cindy looked nervously around her. It was obvious she wasn't going to talk with the guards around. Arnold only nodded, and the guards walked out the room.

"I'm all ears" Arnold said immediately the guards left the room.

"How dire is the situation?" Cindy inquired.

"I think you you already know how dire it" Arnold answered.

"I didn't intend to hack their system. I enjoy hacking tough systems, so i keep hacking systems. Every tough system, i hack encouraged me to hack a tougher one. I wasn't doing it because I wanted to blackmail them. No, i did it because it gave me confidence. It made me feel capable. I found this well guarded and very tough system. I was intrigued. It took me two months to finally hack it and i realized i wasn't supposed to. Because it seemed the system, was that of a secret society. I don't know how, but immediately i hacked it my identity and location, just popped up on my screen and i knew i was in danger" Ciara narrated.

"Who else knows about this?" Arnold asked.

"Ciara and you" Ciara replied honestly.

"That's fine" Arnold replied. "Is there anything else you'd like me to know, Vanessa"
