Busted?

Two bodies entangled on the bed with no clothing on them tried to pull the duvet over them with a look of panic on their face when Julia turned her face away.

She was quick to come back to her senses and realized that the door was still open. Turning, she used her powers to close the door with a thud but many who were just behind her had already seen what should be hidden.

"Wasn't he the fiance of the eldest daughter, James, with Jane in her bed?" asked one even if the lady knew the answer. She smirked as she used her hands to open the door again discreetly.

But the door still stayed closed since Julia was using all her powers to make sure that it would open again until her daughter was dressed up.

"Yes, I heard that there was the same video clip on the information tablet. That was why it was destroyed by the family of the duke. But they claimed that it was a fake video and someone was trying to defame them. They even said that it was a woman with the power of earth element and demonic touch to it." said another woman with confusion as she rubbed her chin.

The discussion took speed and everyone started to speculate what exactly happened between them.

But one thing was clear, the information clip was true and Jane was already afraid of his future brother-in -law and the family of the duke was trying to cover it.

"There might be a case that the rumor that there was a demon roaming between us could also be fake." said someone when others nodded their heads.

Or why was it that only the knights of duke had seen them but not anyone else?!

"I could not believe that they had fallen to such length to hide an affair that they even encouraged the kids to continue it." said a woman with a sigh.

Loyalty, trust and devotion was still much prevalent in the witches who believed in the one man and one woman concept and did not support polygamy.

Many started to look down on Jane who was one of the most popular girls and those who were jealous of her from the start, started to support such thoughts.

"You idiot! What have you done!" since they both were powerful only a few spells were needed to dress them up and clean the mess they had created in the room,

It was hardly a minute only but this much was enough to create the fire of words and the thoughts of everyone change.

When the door was opened again, they all were looking at Jane and Julia with judgemental look and disdain when Julia realized her mistake.

She did not think about it in her panic state but now she understood that her actions of closing the door only proved that she was trying to hide their truth and support them indirectly.

"That… it was an illusion which was created by demons." she tried to explain but her words only brought snarls and disdain from the women standing there.

"Like the demon had used a strong spell to crack the ground and your knights fell on them?" asked one when others laughed instead of feeling bad for them.

"Ha! They must have killed the knights who knew the trust and made such a scary story that no one would have the time to doubt them but everyone would be worried about the danger lurking within."

"That is not true! I can prove it." Julia continued in a calm voice but the look of panic on the face of Jane and James gave it away.

"Let it go, julia. Your daughter and that cheating man had left no place to explain. You should not fall that low to protect the sins of your daughter." said the same woman as she shook her head, " I am feeling nauseous after what I have seen. I am leaving for him but I will surely tell my husband about it."

Julia gritted her teeth as she knew that the woman was against them. So, stopping her would not solve anything. She tried to look at others for help but no one paid attention to her.

Even those who had seen nothing realized what happened with the words of others. Everyone started to leave and those who still stayed only passed snide remarks to the couple.

Only the vassal family of the duke or those who had interest in the family still supported them but even their faces told her that they were mocking her which she could not bear. So, Julia asked them to leave too.

When there was no one left, she turned and slapped her daughter with a look of fierceness on her face. She was a strong witch, so even her slap held a lot of power.

Jane fell on the ground with just one slap and her lips bled.

"Are you a fool? How can you do the deed in your room when you know that there were so many guests in the palace?" she asked with a look of disbelief. Though she did not slap James, her eyes told him that she wanted to rip him apart.

"Now look at what you've done! If your father will come to know.. He will skin you alive." Her voice was full of dread and remorse as she looked at her daughter in pain when Jane tried to stand up.

"Mother, we will find a way. I am sure you will find a reason or…" she did not know what to say when her mother glared back at her.

"Do you think your father is a fool?" she asked in a cold voice when she heard the chuckle behind her and felt goosebumps all over her skin.

"I am sure darling, she is not the only one who thinks like that!"
