The meeting came to a swift conclusion after the Elders decided it was the best for me to be introduced to the people. However, as expected, Zion was against this. He knew exactly what was going to come afterwards, and since his father who was the brain of the family was currently out of commission, handling things alone would certainly be difficult for him.

The elders were the first to leave, and then it was just me, Ethan and Zion seated in the room.

"We should get going, my lady. Damian is probably worried." Ethan whispered, but I wasn't about to leave just yet. I could tell Zion wanted to say something but was probably too afraid to breathe wrongly because Ethan was around.

"Excuse me and my half brother for a moment, Ethan." I requested, and a look of defiance immediately took over Ethan's face.

"I don't think that's a good idea. I'll stay here and watch over you like I promised Damian—"
