It seems Reeds first dragon manifestation will be a black dragon, which means he will only be able to cultivate qi in the beginning. If the mark went white, it would be magic. Instead, all that would mean is he would have to hope for a magic type when he aquires a second one. Although he still has hope that there will be a mutation, then he will have greater power.

Reed is both grateful and exasperated. Oh well, Reed thought at least I won't have to do chores, and I'll have an able assistant.

Reed decided to get started on his job right away, so he set up his alchemy lab in the basement where he had everything then went out to talk to Crystal about going outside the walls to get some plant samples Teresa follows along with the equipment he will need mostly gardening tools and sample jars and bags Crystal said that this time she will go out with them but tomorrow onwards there will be some dedicated guards. Reeds true motive in this outing was to get samples of a plant known as dragons miasma even though he knows all about the plant he needs to do all the research to give proper proof or no one will believe him he also asked Crystal if there was a mage that is a master of rune warfare Crystal blinked and says that she has such credentials so he can talk to her about it.

Just what he sees here can kill a continent full of his people. No wonder it was so widespread that you could just go out and pluck all you wanted. Reed got a hold of himself and heard the 2 women say how beautiful it was, beautiful yes, but deadly Reed grabbed his gloves and started gathering the plant. Teresa, watching him, muttered, "If you wanted them for decoration, you could have just asked someone to gather them." but she saw him put them in the sample jars and started to worry Reed would normally snap something back, but he remained quiet. She remembered one time that happened, and it was not a good thing at this moment she knew something serious would happen.

After Reed gathered enough, he headed back to the city gates. Teresa followed silently. Crystal was silent the entire time, but she seemed in a thoughtful mood. after Reed gets home, he sequestered himself in his workroom and got too work he knows how dangerous this plant is, but he needs proof to back up his allegations if he doesn't have this he will be ignored. As the days pass, he continues his work, making sure not to miss any details. Teresa makes sure he sleeps and eats, though he doesn't leave his workroom until his father calls him to a meeting, saying that Master Winchester has made a great discovery and he is required to attend Reed knows that this is the moment to bring his results out as he is sure the great discovery is the plant he has been researching and this will decide the fate of his people do they dodge a massive warhead headed to the heart of the race or will they die a slow devastating death on this day he will find out can he change fate or not?
