chapter 80

N/A: Before I start with the chapter I want to tell you that since I said the chapters are slow I want to tell you that the main character which is Ethan is going to develop more character as time goes on, since that's what character development is all about and the secondary characters will also in the future since I'm trying to make as real as possible as far as people's personalities go, while I did make Ethan kill zombies easily for a person who has never seen blood, I did it because otherwise readers will say Ethan is too average, so the only thing I'm rushing will be that otherwise there won't be anything else.

Chapter 80:

"Tell me... aren't you going to join your companions?" asked Ethan as he was guided by Rebecca towards the place where there might be some weapons.

Rebecca "I decided to stay with you...and besides they didn't want to face the big stiff you faced, but I did since I didn't want that thing to go out and cause havoc and since you have the same goal I better decide to stay with you while they figure out a way to get out."

Ethan "I see you trust them a lot..."

"Sure...the same way you're trusting me right now "Rebecca said as she smiled at Ethan's direction.

The walk developed into small talk as they both headed to the section filled with the virus that turned you into a zombie.

"This is where the section that is full of that dangerous gas begins "Rebecca pointed out as she looked around the whole place still with a greenish gas that didn't let you see anything inside it.

"I guess I'm going in... "Ethan said as he stepped into the gas a bit to test if it had any effect on him but as theorized nothing happened to him and he decided to go in.

"You guys take care of Rebecca again "Ethan said as he stopped his pet lickers from entering the green gas, so they would stay to protect Rebecca who was going to be left alone and unprotected once he enters the gas to get some weapons.

"Take care Ethan "Rebecca said being heard by Ethan who gave a small smile before walking inside.

The gas was completely thick, so much so that Ethan could see almost nothing with his enhanced senses.

* sound*

The sounds of turned people began to be heard the deeper Ethan went into the thick fog, but no turned people were attacking him.

It was similar to when he was nearby and the zombies outside the mist didn't attack him, something really weird since it couldn't be out of fear since the zombies in the other section when he went to the infirmary did attack him, which led him to finish them all off.

The more Ethan thought about it the more he realized something, the area where the thick fog was was where he had been hospitalized and where he was injected with the viruses before he passed out.

"Did I cause this whole mess?" wondered Ethan as he took it all in.

It all made sense to Ethan now, as it was the mist he had expelled when he was converted that caused all the chaos to begin, only to begin to lose all control of the facility causing the experiments to escape from their containment rooms.

"I caused all this trouble," Ethan said as he lost the strength in his legs.

Ethan had realized that everything he had caused, the deaths and the dead baby he found in the hallway near the AI room, had all been his fault.

*laughs*

Ethan had lost his mind the more he thought about it "I wanted revenge on umbrella and I wanted everyone to suffer...but I don't feel good about causing the death of all the people in the lab "Ethan said as he declined further.

It was there that Ethan felt something nudging his left side, to moments later see his licker named hashiko, who had apparently followed him.

"It's true...look at me getting depressed again when I had said I wouldn't...I really feel pathetic and I don't know how many times I told myself the same thing anymore...come on hashiko let's go get the weapons...at least we should do something with what we released in this world "Ethan said and then went straight ahead.

"Come to think of it... How come I can see properly in this place now? "Ethan wondered as he started to see everything clearly, but then he was interrupted with the sight in front of him, as there were many zombies standing still in place.

Ethan wanted to take them to help him with the big stiff but after thinking about it he didn't, since it was too much trouble for zombies who surely wouldn't help him against the stiff who could absorb them to become stronger.

He couldn't turn them into lickers as his pets either, as 3 were enough and the 30+ zombies were too many and would only get in the way of his battle.

"Ashiko eat all these zombies, so at least you will become stronger before our battle," Ethan said as he went to look for the weapons in the room that Rebecca had told him was where the guards who were armed had taken shelter.

As he walked through the rooms Ethan came across some guards turned zombie "I wish they were smart so they would use guns but I guess they aren't "Ethan said as he looked at the converted guards in uniform with no weapon in hand.

Ethan continued on his way and was able to find the weapons, he found several submachine guns and rifles, but he couldn't find any rifles which is what Rebecca had asked for, so he took nothing but a rifle and several magazines for Rebecca.

"What else is it that Rebecca had asked me for?" said Ethan to himself as he looked at the list Rebecca had given him with the picture of every single thing Rebecca had asked him for, since he didn't know most of the weapons Rebecca had asked him for to say the least.

The rifle was still missing, the more Ethan searched the more he decided to go to the last area where he didn't want to go because of his morality.

"I feel sorry for any women inside who have been turned "Ethan said as he walked in and just as he had thought there were several naked turned girls in the girls locker room.

None of the girls had any skin degradation or any deformities other than pale skin, which made it harder for Ethan to tear his eyes away from the naked girls' bodies.

"Looks like no luck in the girls' locker room either "Ethan said resignedly to himself as he was about to leave, until one of the zombie girls started moving towards a place where there was a secret compartment.

Ethan, who was surprised, decided to approach the compartment from where the girl took the gun to find several boxes of bullets that would serve him wonderfully, although he did not know if they were bullets from the rifle but he decided to trust since they were in the same place.
