Out of Hand

"Now…What will you do? City Lord?"

Geraint smiled as he watched how Garen and Blanc's match would progress in anticipation.

He heard from the battalion commanders that their city lord was very tricky to deal with in a fight. However, he was also confident about General Garen's strength.

Blanc charged at General Garen again and tried to hit him with basic combinations and as expected, Garen was able to block everything.

They were surprised at what Blanc did next though, instead of falling back to dodge General Garen's counterattack, he stood his ground right in front of him.

Garen swung his sword downwards with full strength. Even if Blanc successfully blocks this attack, he might suffer from internal injuries.

Blanc did not plan to block it though, he smoothly leaned to the side and narrowly dodged the attack.

He then swung his sword with full force towards Garen's wrist. Unfortunately, Garen was able to move his arms so his full-force attack only struck Garen's forearm.

"URGHHH!!"

Geraint was surprised upon hearing General Garen's groan.

Garen's huge back prevented him from seeing what happened but it seems that Garen was struck. His questions were answered after seeing Garen hurriedly fall back while rubbing his forearm.

Geraint and the other generals' eyes widened after seeing a huge red mark on General Garen's forearm.

Judging from his expression, they determined that he was hit pretty cleanly. Although it was nothing serious to Garen and his crazy physique, it still hurts getting struck cleanly.

Blanc smiled after seeing the effects of his strategy.

"Heh, I knew it! This guy wouldn't be able to pull back his huge arms on time if I stayed close!"

He immediately charged toward Garen again and tried the same attack pattern. However, this time, he was grazed by Garen's full-powered hit which made him fall back a little.

"Tch!"

The battalion commanders unconsciously clenched their butts due to nervousness.

That one was too close!

After seeing Blanc cleanly strike Garen's forearm earlier, they thought that it would just be a matter of time before Blanc defeated Garen.

Unfortunately, it seems that they were too naive.

Blanc was playing a risky game of dodge-and-hit, if he managed to dodge Garen's blow, then he could land a hit.

However, if he gets hit by Garen, it might be game over with a single hit.

Still, Blanc knew that he had to do this so he kept on doing the same attack pattern but with different variations each time.

After thirty minutes of combat, Blanc was panting hard in exhaustion while Garen's facial expression was a bit twisted.

He was hit multiple times in the forearm by Blanc during the past thirty minutes and his forearm was now starting to get numb.

There were red and purple bruises on his forearm which prevented him from holding his sword properly.

The two combatants stared fiercely at each other, they knew that the fight was coming to an end.

Garen coated his greatsword with sword intent.

The battalion commanders' hearts were pounding. Blanc was their city lord and they were unsure if the duels were still safe after seeing such a huge general with destructive physique use sword intent.

Even if the sword edge was blunt, it was still made of iron and a single hit might break every bone in Blanc's body.

Geraint and Garen also knew this so they hoped that Blanc would surrender.

Unfortunately for them, Blanc looks as determined as ever and he also coated his sword with his black and red sword intent.

Geraint's eyes widened after seeing the color of Blanc's sword intent.

Sovereign sword intent!

He looked at Blanc in utter shock, he didn't expect that a small city lord would be able to condense a sovereign sword intent.

Geraint knows that the color of a person's sword intent is an embodiment of their personality and mentality.

Although he didn't know the meaning of every color, he knew the meaning of some including this black and red sword intent.

This was the sword intent of a sovereign!

This time, it was Geraint who was nervous. The battle was slightly getting out of hand and it might be too dangerous to continue.

However, the two combatants seemed determined to see this through to the end so they had no right to stop them.

"City Lord Blanc Rougenfort! You have won my respect! Now, let us end this!"

"My thoughts exactly, General Garen!"

"HAAAAAAAHHHH!"

After a short conversation, Blanc and Garen charged at each other. Both of them acknowledged each other's strength and wanted to win against a strong opponent.

"HRAAAAAAAARRGHH!"

General Garen didn't swing his greatsword downward this time but instead, he swung it diagonally upwards which was a tricky angle to dodge.

"You didn't see this coming, did you? City Lord Blanc!!"

Garen thought he had already won. He was setting up this tricky angle blow by seemingly showing limited attack patterns earlier.

He sacrificed his forearm for this moment.

In contrast to his expected expression of despair, he was shocked to see Blanc's smiling face.

"You think I didn't notice your plan? I saw it coming from miles away!! HAAAAAAAAAHHHH!"

Blanc jumped and successfully dodged General Garen's full-powered blow.

Then, he used Garen's greatsword which was still high up in the air, and stepped on it to charge straight at Garen again.

"Oh no!"

Garen knew he wouldn't be able to pull his sword back on time so he decided to let go of it and use his two huge arms to block Blanc's attack.

"No! Garen! That's a sovere–"

*BANG* *CRAAACK*

Geraint wanted to warn Garen to not block the attack with his arms but he was too late.

He knew that a sovereign sword intent was way heavier than a regular sword intent and as a result, a nauseating cracking sound was heard from Garen's arm.

"AAAAGHHH!!!"

"Enough!! The match is over!!"

I noticed that some of you guys are getting bored of the action and I admit that I might've made a bit too much of the combat chapters.
