A Warm Reunion

"OHHHH!! Grand Marshal Helena is mighty!"

"Grand Marshal Helena is mighty!"

"Grand Marshal Helena is mighty!"

The Rougenfortians erupted into cheers after Helena won.

Meanwhile, Helena didn't even feel proud after defeating a coward like Walter. In her opinion, winning against such a wuss wasn't worth anything.

So instead of raising her hands in victory, she stabbed her greatsword on the ground, crossed her arms over her chest, and spoke in a loud voice.

"Balmorans! I have defeated your strongest warrior. Is there anyone else who wishes to challenge me?"

Helena arrogantly said. She was honestly disappointed at Walter's cowardice towards the end of their duel so if there was anyone else who wished to challenge her, she would gladly accept.

Unfortunately for her, Walter was already the strongest warrior the Balmorans had brought this time so no other Swordmaster was courageous enough to step forward.

Seeing that no one dared to challenge her, Helena snorted.

"Heh, If you've got no one else, then scram back to your kingdom!" Helena said before turning around to return to Samara City

After hearing Helena's arrogant words, the general in charge of this Balmoran army gnashed his teeth in anger.

He wanted to break the agreement and continue the attack but he wasn't sure if they could take down such a strong Swordmaster so in the end, he decided to play it safe and retreat for now.

However, they would look like idiots if he didn't say a few words before they left.

"Hmmph! We shall let you off this time, however, next time, we won't be so kind!"

The general of the Balmoran Army said before turning around and ordering his men to retreat while suppressing his anger.

Although he said such tough words, everyone knew that they were the losers here today and they would probably become the butt of jokes in their region once they returned.

Meanwhile, Blanc inwardly breathed a sigh of relief.

He thought that the Balmore Kingdom wouldn't comply with the agreement and continue to cause trouble but fortunately, they decided to fall back.

He wasn't scared of fighting the Balmoran Army, it's just that, there was no point in doing so for both sides so he was hoping to avoid a war today, and luckily, the goddess of peace smiled upon them.

Blanc ordered Alexander to continue watching the movements of the Balmoran Army and once they were gone for real, then everyone could return to their normal stations.

He then turned to look at Helena and asked an important question.

"Helena, I heard you spared the Samaran Grand Marshal, Emille Ironbrand?"

Helena's face turned serious after hearing Blanc's question, she then looked at him and explained why she decided to spare the Samaran Grand Marshal.

"Yeah, I decided to spare him because I felt that he was an excellent and loyal military leader with a sense of duty"

On the other hand, Blanc was surprised after hearing Helena's high opinion of the Samaran Grand Marshal, and his interest was piqued because it seemed that Helena had plans to recruit the Samaran Grand Marshal.

"Oh? Can you elaborate?" Blanc said with a curious expression on his face.

As usual, Helena's explanation wasn't based on logic, however, it was spot on.

"I'm not sure but towards the end, when I saw his eyes, I knew he wasn't fond of that bastard, Samara. It seemed like he was simply fulfilling his duty to the end even though it was against his will"

Blanc became even more curious after hearing Helena's explanation.

He knew that her answer wasn't logical but Helena's instincts had always been accurate so he chose to at least give the Samaran Grand Marshal a chance.

"I see…Where is he? I want to talk to him" Blanc asked

"He's inside infirmary room one, we've given him three greater health potions so he has already recovered but keep your guard up, he's still a high-ranked Swordmaster after all…" Helena replied

"Got it"

Inside infirmary room one, a man was staring out the window with a worried expression on his face. He didn't know why but his enemies miraculously spared him.

However, he didn't know if his family was safe or not so he couldn't help but worry about their safety.

Unfortunately, he was cuffed and chained right now so he couldn't leave the room even if he wanted to.

While he was praying for the safety of his family, the door of infirmary room one suddenly opened.

"Father!"

Tears welled up in the corners of Emille's eyes as two children, one boy and one girl, sprinted towards him while calling out to him.

"Erik! Rita! My children!"

The two children hugged Emille and Emille wanted to hug them back but his hands were cuffed together so he could only let the two of them hug him.

While in the middle of a happy reunion with his children, a woman walked closer to him with a smile as tears fell down her cheeks.

"Emille…"

After hearing the familiar voice of his beloved wife, Emille looked at the woman and finally cried his heart out.

"Alicia, my love… I never would have thought that we would have a chance to see each other again in this life…"

Blanc and Helena smiled after seeing the warm family reunion so the two of them decided to let the reunited family enjoy this moment for a few minutes before talking to Emille.

After a few minutes, Emille finally managed to gather his wits so he asked his wife how they escaped the clutches of that evil King Samara.

Alicia then patiently explained that two high-ranked individuals from the Rougenfort Kingdom saved them from their prison cell and allowed them to meet him.

"I see, where are these two individuals now?" Emille asked

Just when Alicia was about to answer him, Blanc and Helena entered the room and caught Emille's attention.

Emille's eyes widened after seeing who the two of them were and upon realizing that he might be in the presence of a king, Emille gave a deep bow to Blanc and Helena.

"You may rise, Grand Marshal Emille"

After hearing Blanc's words, Emille finally confirmed that the person beside the young female Rougenfortian Grand Marshal was the young and wise King Rougenfort.
