Knowing the Truth

Benson's POV

"I was involved in drugs". I muttered out disappointed in myself 

"You were not involved in drugs you were just heartbroken and wanted to ease your pain ".aunt responded.

I shake my head and stood up from The chair 

"What happened next?" I asked 

Aunt took in a deep breath before speaking 

"I took you to a small clinic owned by a good friend of mine and luckily for me, he was on duties that night so you were admitted immediately. he tried to dilute the drugs in your system, and he was successful but something else happened".she murmured

I hissed and stared at her 

"I lost my memory". I murmured

"Yes, you woke up the next morning acting strange and talking strange, you thought we were still in Australia .you saw a post on the wall where California was written, and you asked how we got to California that you can't remember how we got here ".she shakes her head as if she was remembering all that happened that day .

"The doctor came and asked you few questions, but you couldn't answer anyone related to California, all you can remember was all about Australia and nothing more. Series of test were done on you and the doctor discovered you had memory lost, that you lost most of the memory you wish to forget, memories that hurts you".she spoke slowly.

"The doctor did a conversation therapy with you, and we realized you really didn't want to remember those memories because it hurts you, and you wish to forget them. He advised I don't pressurize you to remember anything or anyone that I should keep it away from you until you decide to remember them yourself".

I hissed in regrets and sat on the chair with my hands on the table 

"Then why did we have to leave California". I asked.

She took a deep breath and shake her head in regret

"What Happened". I asked while staring at aunt with curiosity.

"Remember the girl I saw that day in the room with you ".aunt asked 

"Yeah ".

"She died, she did not make it and your friend jay was caught, but he did not make mention of you, but I was scared for you, so I had to sell the house and everything we have in California and travelled back to Australia and start a new life here, there, and then I decided it was best I keep everything away from you, and it was perfect until you travelled back to California".she murmured.

Hearing all these from aunt I couldn't believe all these happen in my life and I couldn't remember a thing.

And all this happened because of that unfaithful girlfriend of mine, aunt went through all these pains and stress just because of her.

"What's her name ". I muttered out in anger 

"Who ?" Aunt asked confused 

"She". I murmured 

I couldn't even call her my girlfriend 

"You mean your girlfriend then ?". Aunt spoke up 

"Yes, who the hell is she ". I thought I still loved her but hearing all these from aunt I realized I hated her.

"Her name is Jessica"aunt murmured out 

"Jessica?" I asked confused 

"Yes, but they usually call her Jesse".the moment I heard those words from her, I felt a sharp pain in my head, I screamed and held my head in pains.

"Are you okay ".aunt stood up and came to me.

I took in a deep breath and calm myself 

"It can't be she ". I murmured to myself 

"There are so many Jesse in California". I convinced myself.

"Are you okay ?" Aunt stared at me with a worried look 

"Yes ". I muttered out and remove my hands from my head.

"How is she ?" I asked 

"I don't understand".aunt spoke confused 

I took in a deep breath to calm down my nerves.

"Is her hair colored gold ?" I asked while seizing my breath

"Please let it be no ". I murmured to myself

"Have you already met her?" Aunt asked 

"Is the color of her hair gold?" I asked in fear.

"Yes, have you met her already".aunt asked 

"It can't be ". I muttered out and stood up from the chair 

"I'll be back ".

"Where are you going".aunt asked 

I ignored her question and ran to my car, I open it and brought out my camera in the back seat and ran back to aunt.

"Is she the one ". I brought out a picture of Jesse and Lilly and showed to her.

"No wonder ,you've met her already". Aunt murmured and shake her head 

"This is Jesse".aunt stared at the picture with a frown on her face.

"She was the one who put you through all these pains and single-handedly destroyed our lives".aunt muttered out those words in hatred.

I felt my legs shaking, and I couldn't stand anymore 

"Are you okay ?" Aunt asked with concerned.

"My head ". I murmured in pains 

"What is wrong ?" Aunt asked in panic

I felt so much pain in my head and my sight became blurry I wanted to say something, but I lost consciousness.

I knock on the door and the door was opened by Jay

"What up man, come in".he stood aside and let me in 

I hissed in anger and pain and sat on the floor

"What's wrong?" He asked while staring at me with curiosity.

"She is cheating on me". I murmured in tears 

"Stop this man you are not supposed to be crying over of a girl". Jay sat beside me and taps my shoulder.

"You don't understand man, it's too painful my heart pounding in pain ". I murmured in pain 

"I told you all girls are cheats but you won’t listen, you keep claiming that you guys love each other while you were the one who was in love and not she, she doesn't love you, no girl loves a man ".he spoke firmly

I hissed in pain and dragged my knees to my chest and place my head on my knees.

"It's painful, I haven't felt this much pain in my entire life " I whisper in tears 

"I understand, just be a man ".he tried encouraging me, but it wasn't helping.

A knock on the door caught our attention

"Who is coming?" I asked 

"My girlfriend".he murmured and went for the door.
