Christmas shopping

Jesse's POV

I  was shock to see Benson at my door, 

I was expecting Derick because we were supposed to shop for myChristmas decoration but here was Benson who has been avoiding me like a disease in front of me, smiling at me with a ridiculous smile on his face.

“Why are you here? “.  I asked with folded arms 

He hissed softly and stared at me 

“Derick couldn't make it and called for me to help him " .he spoke softly.

I hissed in Frustration and annoyance.

“Why couldn't he come? “. I asked, 

“An urgent work came in”.

I hissed softly and stared at Benson in frustration.

I did not want him here,, but then I needed the help of a man and Daniel wasn't in town.

“you Don't have to come if you don't want to “. I whispered.

“If I didn't want to come I wouldn't have to agree to take his place, “.he replied firmly.

I took in a deep breath and open the door for him to enter 

He step inside the apartment and sat on the couch.

“Do you want me to get you something? ”. I asked 

“I'm fine”. he replied 

“I'll be back “. I said those words and left him in the sitting room.

I pick up my bag and a camera before walking back to the sitting room.

“We can leave now”. he stood up from the couch and walked out of the apartment with me.

We got out of the apartment and I open my car and we drove out of my apartment.

"Where to first". He asked 

"We are going for the tree".I said those words with my eyes on the road.

He nods his head and stared outside the car window .

We drove in silence till we got to the tree mall .

"We are here ".I spoke up and turn off the car 

"Wow,this is beautiful".he exclaim and got out of the car .

"The moment we got out of the car a tree got my attention and I walked to the direction of the tree with Benson walking behind me .

I got to the tree and ran my fingers on it .

"Do you like it ".the owner of the tree walk up to me 

"Yeah ". I replied while taking a better look at the tree .

"How much ".I asked 

"50 dollars ".he replied

"That's too much ",

"How much do you want this ".he asked 

I touch the tree and took a better look at it before speaking up 

"42 dollars".I replied

"That's too low".he mumured 

"That's the least I could give ".I replied.

He stared at me for a while before staring at the tree.

"It's the season of Christmas and it the season to give so I'll give you this "

"Thank you ".I smiled at him

"Where is your car".he asked 

"There ".I pointed my car at him .

"Is he with you ".he asked while staring at Benson who hasn't said a thing since we came to the mall .

"Yes "

"Alright,help me man"

"Don't worry ,I can carry it alone ".Benson replied.

I roll my eyes and looked away . Benson still has this attitude of showing off his strength.

He carried the tree while I pay for the tree and walk back to the car .

I got to the car and noticed he has already put the tree in the car boot 

"Thanks".I whisper

He nods his head and look away .

"We should go for the lights".

We go into the car and I drove. out of the tree mall .

Throughout the drive there was a akward silence between us and none of us said a word to we got to the shopping plaza.

We got out of the car and I led the way .

We got into shopping mall and I started picking up different lights from the mall .

I finished picking up the light and took it to the cashier ,I paid for it and Benson offered to take some from me .

"Thank you ". I mumured

He smiled at me and  we left the shopping mall.

"Jesse".I heard someone calling out my name 

I turn around and saw that it was gift our high school class mate and she knew Benson.

"Shit".I muttured out .

She ran up to me and hugged me tightly.

I turn around and noticed Benson was already gone .

I hissed in relief and smiled at her .

"I thought I saw Benson".she asked 

I chuckled softly and looked away .

"You must have seen wrong".I spoke firmly.
