Can't withstand him

Jesse's POV

“So you mean he called you a distraction”. Jennifer spoke in disbelief.

“Not only that, he said I should stay away from him”. I murmured.

“This is bad, Jesse, this is really bad “.

“I know”. I murmured

“Look at me, Jesse”. Jennifer pleaded over the camera.

I released a deep breath and stared at her through the camera.

“With all the things you've told me, I think it's time to finally let go of him “. I stared at her and watch her nod her head.

“You have to Jesse, he is totally different now, and you have to accept it and move on with your life .he has a family, and you don't have any “. She pleaded

“It's not easy as you paint it to be “. I whisper while avoiding her gaze.

“I never said it would be easy, but you can try, and by trying that means you have to take the first step by leaving that town”.she spoke seriously.

I grumbled and ran my fingers in my hair.

“Hey Jesse, one step at a time, just try it and see “. I stared Jennifer and saw how worried and serious she looks, after all these years she still Care for me like she always does.

“Okay”. I whispered

“That's good Jesse, so when are you coming back "

“After Christmas, I have to watch the kid dance”.

“What about the royal academy offer “.she asked, 

“You can't miss such an opportunity”.

“I know, I will call them and tell them if I can join them after Christmas”

“Do you think they will agree”.she asked 

“I don't know, I'll just try and see “.

“I don't get why you just can't leave that town and come over here “.she spoke in annoyance.

I roll my eyes playfully at her.

“That's because I've already made a promise to the kids and am gonna fulfill it “, .she hissed and roll her eyes at me before she speaks up 

“Whatever, just come back home “,

“Thanks, but here is also home “. I replied her.

She rolls her eyes before ending the video call.

I hissed softly before switching off my computer.

The next Monday, I got to the dance hall before anyone and started arranging my things, before kids and their parents started coming in.

“Good morning, Miss Jesse “.a student greeted.

Children keep coming until everyone was here except for Lilly, I checked the time and waited for her, but there was no sign of her.

“Let's begin”. I started the class because we couldn't wait any longer.

Few hours we were done with rehearsal. I pick up my things and left the hall to check on Lilly and to know why she wasn't in rehearsal today.

I got home changed my cloths and walked over to Mrs Sonia's apartment, I got to the apartment and knocked a few times before the door was opened by Mrs Sonia's herself.

The moment I saw her by the door, panic, and fear envelop my whole body .has Benson left with Lilly just the way he left twelve years ago, I thought to myself

“Vicky”. Mrs Sonia voice brought me out from my thought.

“Hey Mrs Sonia “. I flash a smile and wave my hand at her.

“Are you here to see Lilly”.she asked 

“Yeah, yes I didn't see her in practice today, so I came to check if everything was alright”

“Please come in “. Mrs Sonia open the door widely for me.

“Thank you “. I murmured and got inside the apartment.

“Lilly developed a cold last night because of the snow that fell last night, so Benson decided she stays at home today “.

I hissed in relief and smiled at Mrs Sonia

“Where is she now “. I asked 

“In her room, come on, let me show you “. She stood up from the couch and led the way .we passed two doors before she stopped at a door, 

“This is her room, she will be so happy to see you “.she smiled at me and left me standing by the door.

I took in a deep breath and relax myself before opening the door.

I open the door and met eyes with Lilly, she was wide awake and was playing with some toys in her bed.

“Miss Jesse”.she shouted in surprise when she noticed me, 

“Hey dear Lilly, how are you “. I asked while sitting beside her on the bed.

“I'm doing very well, thank you “.she replied with a big smile on her face.

I chuckled softly and stroke her hair, 

“That's good because everyone misses you”

“Really”. She asked with wide eyes 

“Of course, get well and come back soon okay “.

“Yes”.she giggled happily and hugged me

Just then the door open widely reveling Benson at the door with some bags in his hands.

“Oh dad you are back, see who is here to see me “.she smiled at me then to her dad.

I met eyes with him and nervously look away.

“Hey Jesse”.his deep rough voice brought shivers to my body and I knew I had to leave immediately.

“Hey Benson, I stared at him and was intoxicated by his two pairs of green eyes on me that felt like it was trying to pierce through my soul, and I knew I have to leave this room this very minute.

“Dad, miss Lilly said everyone misses me at rehearsal today”.she spoke happily.

He smiled at her and began walking toward our direction with his eyes fixed on me like he was trying to get something from me. I swallowed nervously and looked away until he was standing beside me. I felt his manly and strong scent on me and I couldn't withstand him anymore for a second.

“Did you get the stuff”. Lilly asked 

“Yes dear “.he replied while placing the bag on the table 

“Thanks Dad, I and miss Jesse can eat it together”.she said those words while smiling at me.

Quickly, I stood up from the bed and kissed Lilly on the cheek.

“I have to be somewhere at the moment am so sorry I can't stay and eat with you, I will eat with you some other time okay “. I did not let those words finish from my mouth before I rush out of the room and Left the apartment to my apartment.

I got to my apartment and leaned on the door.

“This isn't easy, it's not fucking easy “. I whisper to myself.
