"We know that you were the one behind Ralph's mate disappearing," Tony uttered, and Kate scrambled back shaking her head.
"We don't choose our mates," Ethan said slowly. "We are given the ones who will support and calm us when we need them. We have given the ones who love us no matter our strengths or failings."
Kate's face became a mask of anger. "I was supposed to be the support for a fighter wolf? Some low mutt who will only be nothing more than a servant to a pack. I deserved better than that, and I reached for it."
