~Chapter three~

Nora tries her possible best to speak out but then whenever she tries,she gets bullied and tortured.Deep down inside her,she wants to be an empowerment to all other maltreated people like her.she really wants to give them a voice to be able to speak up and be important In the society.

Will she overcome all this and be a voice to people like her? Or will she succumb to societal expectations.

She thinks of finding her true identity,inner strength and resilience in the face of rejection and massive betrayal that she faces that tries to bring her down whenever she seems to be getting to somewhere.

Will she really succumb to all this trials?

While all this happens,she tries to secure her emotional health.

"On this day I hand over Nora Sophia Emmanuel to you as your wife and bride,treat her like one and take good care of her,"Edward pastor said while handing over nora's hand to him which he held to avoid being questioned by the priest.

"So her name changes from Nora Sophia Emmanel to Nora sophia Christian,"

"Both of you go to your home,build your home and give birth to beautiful children,"the priest said while he taps both of their shoulders.

The both of them bowed and walked through the aisle together while the bridesmaids threw beautiful scented flowers on them.

"My son,i'll be there in a giffy to help your wife serve you,"Edward mom said while she locked the door of the car and waved nora bye.

For the first time in my life,I felt really happy.first time am being in the midst of great people and a crowded place.A flicker of hope was ignited in me making me realize that it's the beginning of my journey in finding out myself and true purpose.

"Hello,my man,"Edward said over to the person on the phone which made me get out of my thoughts.he was really smiling,is he happy about our marriage.

"What's happening today,"I asked myself.

"Everything and everyone is acting weird,"I said still confused about why henry is happy about this marriage or is he drunk.Even his mum was happy too.

"But then how come,this people hate me alot,"I said still confused and turned to listen to Edwards conversation with the caller.

"Yes man,am so happy,"henry said while smiling truly but then how come.

I was still confused.Seems like we are fated to be or seems like the way he acted towards me when I came visiting to his house was due to the fact that he was scared and still unsure of me since I was being imposed on him but then,he slept over it and thought of it and decided to reciprocate.

"Am beginning to love my days ahead,"I said to myself but then a voice said "not too soon".I looked around to see who said it but then all I saw was henry answering a call and the driver shouting at his fellow driver.How crazy?."such a crazy day,"I said.

As the car arrived at a stop,the maids rushed out with towels on their left hands to wipe the governors face and collect his lauggae.

"Welcome sir," all of them chorused.

He didn't reply,he just walked pass them while nora follows him at the back.

He ordered the servants to serve her food which they did.

2 months later.

"What do you mean by I should leave the room,honey what wrong have I done to you,"nora asked almost at the verge of crying.

Ever since they married,he had been behaving so strange.he even slapped nora for a little matter that could have been talked about and settled without even sitting down.

"Didn't you hear me,do as I say before I order the guards to throw you out," edward commanded angrily.

To avoid being further embarrassed,she decided to leave the room for him in search of another room to sleep in for the night.

*Around 1 am in the momorning which is the next day already*

Nora felt really uneasy and decided to go ease her self.as she walked around the big hall,she decided to go to her matrimonial room to ease her self.about to open the door then she heard her husband speaking to someone on phone,she stayed back to listen to the conversation.

I'll be coming to the USA very soon this my annoying so called of a wife is really pissing me off and I can't handle it anymore.Meanwhile,I need more funds,they funds funds that I received from the contract I had with dad is about to finish and isn't enough as the person who is involved in it is eating all the money,"he said to the person on the phone.

"Well,alright bro I will always get your back in any decision you decide to take,"the caller said and edward responded by hitting his his right hand that is being folded on his chest.

I listened to everything edward said clearly,my mouth was just left one in shock.I couldn't even take in everything that he just spill out.I felt like dying really now."was I being used without my consent",I asked probably to no body in particular it was kinda loud tho,edward came out to see who just talked although,he didn't hear what the person said.

I rushed to my room,closing the door as quite as i can be before I sat down at the door step and dozed off to my thoughts.

"Have Edward being using me?,"

"Which contract exactly?,"

"What does this contract says?,"

"Why the hate so much,what have I ever done to edward?,"

All this are questions that I asked without answers to clarify them.I was still lost,everything seems like a manipulation to me.

"Am i being manipulated?,"

"What's wrong with me?,"I asked while crying whimpering is not an option now and it won't do anything to ease off the emotional stress that I was having right there.

While I was crying,a guard who was in duty heard me crying,and decided to check up on me.

*knock knock*

"Who is there,"I asked whimpering this time around.

"My lady,it's me.I heard your voice and decided to check if everything is alright,"he asked caringly.

"Yes,I am fine.Thanks for checking up on me,"I said.it was really nice for someone to ask.it relieved me.

Meanwhile,the guard who checked on his lady,is o e of the strongest guards in the palace.he worked with edward father before working with edward.he is a very obedient and loyal person who never betrayed his former lady and king.

It's been up too 5 months that nora have been married to edward but then,the guard had secretly had a crush on her.But he can never say it unless he wants to get crucified,so he kept it to himself.
