Palace Master

"Greetings fellow cultivator, for what reason have you visited the Saint Palace?"

The person behind the reception counter asked with an amicable smile on his face.

He was wearing a white robe with the symbol of the Saint Palace, was slightly shorter than Wu Huang and had an average looking face.

"I'm here to see your palace master."

After hearing Wu Huang's words, the receptionist immediately burst out laughing.

"Hahaha…So what you are saying is, you want to see our palace master? Even the outer elders have never seen the Palace Master before. If you really can see the Palace Master, I will kowtow to you three times!"

Unsurprised, Wu Huang took out a void-black talisman that had the symbol of the Saint Palace inscribed on it and tore it.

The talisman was as black as night and had the shimmer of stars. The symbol of the Saint Palace was inscribed in blood-red ink and gave off a domineering aura.

While Wu Huang was in seclusion, he had sent one of his men to deliver a genesis rune filled with his Sacred Dragon Qi to the Saint Palace. In return, the Palace Master personally refined a talisman for Wu Huang and told him to use it if he was in danger.

Blessings based on Ancient Saint Genesis Beasts were the rarest and the most mythical of all the blessings. Hence, the Palace Master personally refined a life-saving talisman for Wu Huang.

When torn, the talisman would form a shield made of the Palace Master's Genesis Qi and can withstand an attack of the Heavenly Sun Realm. It also allows the Palace Master to use the talisman as a beacon and teleport to it.

Suddenly, the space around Wu Huang rippled and a tremendous pressure encompassed the entirety of the island, causing weaker cultivators to immediately fall to their knees.

The space near Wu Huang was torn and a man with long silver hair that draped over his shoulders appeared. His pupils were the same silver as his hair, making him appear rather mysterious and unfathomable.

Others might have been unaware of the man's identity, but all the members of the Saint Palace couldn't be more clear of his identity! He was the Palace Master of the Saint Palace itself - Sheng Yuan!

Seeing that even the Palace Master came personally when Wu Huang tore the Talisman, the other outer elders and disciples became curious about the young man's identity.

"Who is that young man?" One of the outer elders asked.

"Don't know." The person beside him answered, shaking his head.

"I know, he's the Crown Prince of the Great Wu Empire, and is said to have the Sacred Dragon Blessing!" One of the inner elders interjected.

The commotion of the Palace Master appearing on the island had already attracted many other elders and disciples. All of them wanted to catch a glimpse of their revered Palace Master.

Other disciples and elders who heard that were astounded.

That young man actually has the Sacred Dragon Blessing! No wonder even the Palace Master came to receive him.

A/N: Sheng Yuan = Palace Master (might be using both terms)

Amidst the whispers from all around, the Palace Master descended onto the platform near Wu Huang.

The Elders and Disciples, regardless of rank, dared not slight the Palace Master.

"Greetings Palace Master." the elders and disciples greeted as they all knelt on one knee in salute while facing Sheng Yuan.

The Palace Master smiled and nodded at them, returning their greetings. He then signalled for them to get up.

Sheng Yuan's gaze finally fell on Wu Hunag, and his eyes narrowed.

In a few moments, Sheng Yuan reached Wu Huang and asked, "Why did you tear the talisman when you were not in any danger?"

Replying to the Palace Master, "I wanted to join the Saint Palace, but I'm afraid he won't agree." Wu Huang concisely summarized the situation as he looked at the person who had mocked him.

Wu Huang wasn't interested in being a hero or a good person. It's not like he was some main character of a chinese novel. If anybody offended him, they can only pay with their lives.

Furthermore, Wu Huang was no saint, and he had to make an example. Else everyone would think that he was some toothless tiger and he would have to spend his days beating up young masters and whatnot.

Sheng Yuan blanked for a second. He followed Huang Xiaolong's line of gaze and saw the outer disciple that mocked Wu Huang, and creases wrinkled his smooth forehead. He asked him, "Outer Disciple, what is going on here?!"

A/N: Outer Disciple = Lin Tian

Lin Tian trembled at Sheng Yuan's harsh tone, stammering as he tried to answer, "Palace Master, misunderstanding, really a misunderstanding. I-I didn't know he-he's Palace Master's…. "

Lin Tian wanted to explain that he didn't know of Wu Huang's relationship with the Palace Master. Therefore, until the end, he didn't know what to say.

But it was enough for Sheng Yuan. His face darkened. At this point, he could obviously see that some sort of conflict had taken place between Lin Tian and Wu Huang before he arrived!

"Core Elder Zhang, tell me what happened earlier?" Sheng Yuan skipped over Lin Tian and asked the Elder in charge of the Island.

A/N: Core Elder Zhang is kinda like the governor/mayor of the island

Although Core Elder Zhang was Lin Tian's Master, Sheng Yuan was quite familiar with Core Elder Zhang''s upright temperament which is part of the reason why he let him be in charge of the island.

Core Elder Zhang's mouth opened and closed in hesitation, but he recounted the matter as it had happened to Sheng Yuan.

A while later, Core Elder Zhang finished recounting the incident without straying from the truth.

A/N: Do y'all want me to stick with a single title for Sheng Yuan or it's fine if i keep switching to make the story flow smoother
