Chapter 148

At the venue of the Ice Pillar Break event,

The spectators are excited to see what the rumored Yotsuba is going to do in his debut performance in the preliminaries. However, they then remember that a Yotsuba is in the same group as those special Second High students, so they lower their expectations.

In one of the private viewing platforms though it's not really private as spectators can just look up and they'll be able to see who is inside the room because of the glass window wall. However, no one can enter this room without permission from the people inside. Maya and Miya are inside this private room. Minami is also in this room with them.

Maya is currently wearing an outfit consisting of a sleeveless, flowing white dress with a tiered, ruffled skirt that gives it a soft, airy feel. A large, black sash is wrapped around the waist, tied in an elegant bow, adding contrast and emphasizing the silhouette. The bodice features a plunging neckline with delicate lace details, giving a touch of sophistication. The ensemble is completed with a wide-brimmed straw hat, providing a chic and summery look.

While Miya wears an outfit is an elegant black ensemble featuring a lacy top with a bow at the center and intricate floral lace patterns on a semi-transparent shawl. The fitted black pants provide a sleek contrast, completing the stylish and sophisticated look.

"What are we going to do about the Ichijou heir?" Miya asked with a hint of anger in her tone. After hearing from Tatsuya what Oreki said about Masaki, she really wants to do something about the creep.

"If you mean doing something bad against the kid then No, and if you we should just kill him and maybe destroy the Ichijou clan?" Maya said with a smirk " Then I agree, we can make them as examples to not mess with us or to Miyuki and Tatsuya." She added.

"What?" Miya was confused at first after hearing that but recovered "We don't really have to do that much.." Miya said with a strained smile.

"Did I stutter?" Maya questioned with a smirk to Miya and when the latter did not answer quickly. Maya turns to the other figure "Old Kudou, what do you think? Did I stutter?" She asked the old man with them.

"No, you didn't" Retsu replied as he chuckled lightly. At first, he was here only to greet them as the Chairman of the Magic Association out of courtesy and also greet them as their former Master that's all. However, Miya and Maya let him stay because they wanted to catch up and talk about their life. He sighed inwardly because this was the result of Oreki's existing Maya...no in both of their lives.

"Heard that? I didn't stutter." Maya said.

"What in the world are you living in? I didn't even say you stutter!" Miya shouted.

"It's an expression dearest sister." Maya rolled her eyes to the uncultured Miya. Even though that specific TV show did not exist here, she still was able to make a reference to it.

"I don't care!" Miya growled with narrow eyes "Anyway, we can't just kill the kid or erase their clan just for being creepy towards Miyuki because that's overkill" She explained "Why not just tell the heir to stay away from my daughter or just tell his father to hold the reins of his son." She said lightly.

"Didn't you hear what Tatsuya said?" Maya asked with a frown.

"Ichijou won't take No for an answer and that was according to your boy toy," Miya said as she crossed her arms.

"That's why we have to get rid of that pest before he could even think of stalking my niece," Maya said as she imagined a shadow following her niece, every time Miyuki turned around who was following her, the stalker hid like a cockroach.

Miya thought of something to retort but couldn't, so she looked at the Old man with them and asked him to stop Maya's dangerous thinking.

"Does Oreki-san want to get rid of Ichijou's heir?" Retsu asked.

"Based on what my nephew said, he sounded really really upset just to be near him, so I would assume that even if we killed the Ichijou heir, he'll agree no doubt," Maya explained while thanking Minami for the tea that she just drank and the latter just bow in response.

"Then I won't oppose you in doing that," Retsu said casually.

"You too?" Miya questions their former Master.

"I'm not going to go against my grandson's benefactor." Retsu said, "And besides I don't have the ability to stop him even if I want to." He added as he leaned back to concentrate on the upcoming debut of Oreki.

Down the Arena of the Ice Pillar Break.

The audience roared when the platform of the players started going up. However, their shouting stops when they notice one of the contestants is not wearing his own uniform.

"The Men's category can wear different outfits too?"

"Yes. I think so too. It is just the students choose not to because they consider it girly"

"There's nothing girly with that outfit of him because Mama Mia what a delight to see," some older woman said unbeknown to this woman, she was almost killed by Maya using her Meteor Magic but thankfully Miya was there to stop her.

Oreki wears an outfit featuring black knee-length shorts with a brown belt and sturdy black boots. He's shirtless, showing off a muscular build, and accessorizes with a red beaded necklace, an orange wide-brimmed hat with goggles, and a dagger on his hip.

"Why is he wearing only shorts?" Mayumi asked looking respectfully at the body of Oreki. Akeno nudged Mayumi using her elbow "You don't have to be so reserved because you already saw that naked." She remained Mayumi of the latter's most fond memory she had recently.

Mayumi coughed lightly as she blushed "Anyway, why is she wearing only that? I don't think that kind of outfit is allowed." She asked blushing still.

"He convinced the teacher to let him wear that outfit, that's for sure" Valerie answered.

"But why that?" Tsubaki question.

"It's from One Piece" Gasper answered making the group look at him with a frown, except Sona, Kiba, and Minoru. "It's from One Piece!" He answered again the group still waited for further explanation. "It's from One Piece! One the two greatest Manga and Anime of all time in our World."

"Oh... He is cosplaying as one of the characters from that Manga." Akeno said as she connected the dots.

"Not just any character. He is cosplaying Ace" Gasper said proudly. Just like Rias, he too is an otaku. 

"Isn't that character die..." Kiba the Wiki reader was about to spoil it to them but Gasper was quick to cover his mouth. He then turned to the others "I recommend to you girls to read it" He said with a smile while telling Kiba not to spoil it.

Back to the Arena.

The crowd was back on cheering or whistling as the girls in the audience admired the muscular and handsome appearance of Oreki and also they really wanted to get out of there as soon as possible to touch themselves back in their hotel because they didn't want to forget this picture in their head. Even though Minoru was the perfect magician and specimen the girls did not feel this way towards him.

Oreki's opponent in this preliminaries is a no-name Third High. The opposing student started yapping and yapping about how he'd show the people that the Yotsuba clan being the strongest and mysterious is just a myth that the Yotsuba themselves created to scare away stronger magicians.

However, Oreki did listen to the guy as he waited for the game to start. The Jumbotron instructs the audience to be quiet which they comply easily.

"3..2..1 go!" With a honk of the horn, the game started.

Oreki did not give the opposing student a chance to cast any magic. He waves his hands as he creates an infernal flame below the opponent's Ice Pillar. The Fire was a lot hotter and more powerful than the flame that Akeno created during her final performance against Kanon. 

The Third High Student felt that heat deep in his bones making him shout in agony. This flame could have turned him to ash but it didn't because Oreki protected his body.

The staff from afar saw this and signaled Oreki to stop which the latter followed. Oreki snapped his finger which resounded all throughout the arena. 

After that snap the fire disappeared, the Ice pillar of the Third High Student also melted and his clothes burned to ashes leading him to be naked for all the students to see. His face turns charcoal black and his hair is all gone.

The spectator did not even look at the naked Third High student and stared silently at the other naked or half-naked guy.

With the honk of the horn, the audience erupted in cheers and whistles. Oreki his hands to the audience as the platform he was standing on went down until it reached the ground. He walks towards the player tunnel before he enters the player tunnel, He then throws the hat he is wearing to the audience and a lucky girl is about to catch it.

Maya turns to Minami before saying "Take that hat from the girl, I don't care what methods you use, just take it." She instructed.

Miya stared at Maya and asked "Seriously?"
